Nir vritti Panchakam - 2
« on: July 21, 2009, 12:19:07 PM »
Suppose, we mortals, take the case of me, how will I start
my dialogue with another person?  The dialogue always starts
with body, nothing but body.  How are you sir?  How is your
health?  Are you keeping fine?....  Then I ask about his place, kulam,
gothram, jati, his job, is he married or not, if so how many children?
This body consciousnss does not leave me.

My conversation with Nochur Venkataraman is a classic example.
(Partly imagined....)

Sir, Are you Brahmasri Nochur Venkataraman?

Yes. I am Nochur Venkataraman.

Sir, Are you a Malayalee?    Yes. I am.

Sir, wherefrom you come in Nadu [nadu is a slang in Malayalam
     for his native state]?

From Palakkad.

Wherefrom in Palakkad?

From Nochur Village.....

Then the conversation turns into some other aspects of body

Sir, my second cousin's brother in law's first daughter is also
married to a person in Palakkad.  His name is Harihara Iyer.
I shall ask him to see you!.....

Why should this blessed Harihara Iyer meet Nochur Venkataraman?  What is the purpose?  What is the use?  Is that useless Harihara
Iyer an exponent in Srimad Bhagavatam and Sad Darsanam?

However, we talk only such things.  All around body and nothing
but body....

Nochur Venkataraman says:  Whenever some aditi, guest comes
to your house, please read Upadesa Saram for him.  If he likes
it, that will be a good Satsangh before lunch.  If he does not like
it, he will never come to your house thereafter!  But never, never
talk about body, work, salary, age etc.,

Arunachala Siva.

Nowadays all talk about body, work, salary and age. It seems that there is nothing to talk about :)
