Punarvasu Vannam
« on: June 24, 2009, 06:54:06 PM »
Today, the 24th June 2009, we have the asterism of Punarvasu.
This is a star of golden brilliance.  This is the birth star of
Bhagavan Ramana and earlier Sri Rama.  In the Asramam,
nowadays, they place a golden socket on the Ramaneswara
Mahalingam and do special puja on the day of this asterism.
They also sing song titled Punarvasu Vannam, Punarvasu
Varnam  -  The golden brilliance of Punarvasu, by Muruganar.
This comes under Sri Ramana Sannidhi Murai [Homage to the Presence of Sri Ramana].  I thought I could give a rough translation of one of the eleven verses under this.

Verse 4:

This is the coour of all substances of this universe.
This is the colour of all glories of this universe.
This is the brilliance of all shining of this universe.
This is the colour of brilliance of realization.
This is the colour of all riches.
This is the colour of brilliance of all achievements.
This is not the colour of delusive darkness.
This is the brilliance of the gaze of Grace of Guru Ramana.
This is the the colour of this day, Punavasu, the brilliance.

I heard this song sung by one ardent devotee in melodious
music in the Samadhi Hall, when I had been there last time.
