The month Adi (Tamil month)
« on: May 27, 2009, 03:28:20 PM »
Why this month is so much important for south Indians? Because all the festivals are starting from this month. Or it is the Dakshinayana Kalam.
But for the true spiritual seekers it does not make any difference whether it is Dakshinayanam or uthrayanam, Because those who are doing
self enquiry they may be having yagna in which all the thoughts are the SAMITHU. The question will be (who I am ) will be the ghee falls into the fire of yagna
The ghee and the samithu all get burn, the prasam is the thoughtless stage. which gives the enlightenment.

On the other hand for karmakanda we have to do tharpanam.Anyway Adi (tamil month) is coming. It is a speacial month for Goddess. All temples will have
festivals. Apart from this can any body knows more about this month. Please post.

Dear Ramanaduli,

Samithu are thoughts.  Wonderful!  Burn the thoughts after
soaking in the ghee of self enquiry, and place them in the
fire of the Self.  Wonderful.

The Tamil month Adi, or Ashada in Sanskrit or Kannada,
[of course in Karnataka and Andhra the month starts
earlier as per lunar calendar], is the commencement of
Dakshinayanam, from which the Hindu festivals start
and go upto Margazhi or Margasirsha.  The Fridays of
Ashada are noted for Devi worship.  Ashada Krittika
is noted for Skanda worship.

Arunachala Siva.
