Siva Manasa Puja of a different kind - 2
« on: May 23, 2009, 01:33:43 PM »
There is another Siva devotee called Sakkiya Nayanar.
He was born Saiva but joined Buddhist monastery and
became a follower of the Buddha.  After some years, he
became dis-satisfied and found inner peace only in the
Saiva Siddhantam.  One day, he was going near a garden
and found a Siva Linga there.  Since he was already in a
Buddhist monastery, he could not do anything, even though
he desired to do puja.  He simply threw a small stone at
the Siva Linga, meditating Siva to treat it as a flower. He
continued to do this, for some more time, and everyday
he threw a stone at the Siva Linga.  Siva was pleased about
his devotion with conviction, and He did not mind this different
puja to Him.  In due course, Siva called him to His Abode!

Arunachala Siva.
