Vishnu Shatpadi by Sankara
« on: July 17, 2008, 05:14:40 PM »
Vishnu Shatpadi, six verses on Vishnu, is again a small work
by Sankara, which again describes the seeker's craving for
the Godhead.

A sample,

Save me from pride, O Vishnu! curb my restless mind
Still my thirst for the waters of this world's mirage
Be gracious Lord! to  this Thy humble creature
And rescue him, from the ocean of the world.

Even when I am not duality's slave, O Lord,
The Truth is that I am Thine and not that Thou art mine
The waves may belong to the ocean,
But the ocean never belongs to the waves!

Arunachala Siva.
