Pilgrimage to the Hill of Fire, April-May 2009 - 4
« on: May 03, 2009, 11:33:58 AM »
On 30th April,  I had met Sri J. Jayaraman, the Librarian of the
Centenary Library.  He was talking to me about his understanding
of Bhagavan Ramana.  He mentioned about the new collections
of Muruganar which have been since published by the Asramam.
These are Sri Guru Ramana Prasadam, Sri Ramana Anubhuti and
Sri Ramana Anubhuti Venba.  He selected some verses and said that
these were written by Muruganar after his Self realization. He
mentions here that he, Ramana and Sivam are one and the
same substance, the one without a second.  Then I asked him,
how a person who is not yet realized can understand that such and
such person is Self Realized?  This is the question srkudai asked
many months before in the Forum.  The standard Ramana answer is:
"A self realized Jnani do not see anyone else as Ajnani as there is nothing other than Brahman.  The Ajnani too cannot understand a
Jnani because he is not yet self realized."  But J. Jayaraman said
that Bhagavan had said that because He had never wanted to be
anything controversial.   But we can understand that a person is
Self Realized from his writings, which had been written after self
realization.  Sri Guru Ramana Prasadam indicates that Muruganar
was self realized while writing that.  We can see Manikkavachagar too in that stage in Tiruvachakam, right from the first verse, Siva Puranam:  " O Obeisance to Namasivaya. Obesiance to His feet, Obeisance to the One who never leaves my Heart even for a trice
of beating the eyelids!"

Sri J. Jayaraman then told me that he wanted the three Advaita books of Kovilur Math from Isanya Math, which I had fetched and given him on my day of return on 2nd May 2009.

Arunachala Siva.
