Draupadi was laughing at Bheeshma
« on: March 25, 2009, 11:06:01 AM »
When Bheeshma was on the bed of arrows, waiting for Uttarayana
to leave his body, Krishna took Dharmaputra and others to the
great warrior and sage to know the dharmas and way for liberation.
When Dharmaputra asked some questions, Bheeshma explained in
detail and then came Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam.  Wheen Bheeshma
was telling things very seriously, Draupadi was laughing and looking
elsewhere.  When Bheeshma asked her for the reasons, she said:
"O Pitamaha!  You are telling all this now.  But you were also keeping quiet when Dushasana was disrobing me, inspite of my calls to you and Drona.  I was therefore laughing."

Bheeshma stayed quiet for sometime and then said:  "Yes.  At that time my body was full of bad blood, due to my eating Duryodhana's food and drinks.  Now Arjuna has drained out all the bad blood.  Hence, I believe I am now qualified to tell Dharmaputra about dharmas and greatness of Vishnu."

Arunachala Siva.
