Bhagavan Ramana's last photographs
« on: March 16, 2009, 12:23:41 PM »
We have seen how Bhagavan Ramana's first photograph in Arunachala, came to be taken by Mr. Nalla Pillai, of Kumbakonam,
in 1896.

There are three photographs of Bhagavan Ramana taken during the
last few days before Maha Nirvana, on 18th April 1950.  One of them
was taken by H. Cartier-Bresson on 4th April 1950.  Here, it is as if
we are standing at His feet, and looking at Him and He at us.  We see Him with swollen head and a huge bandage on His left arm.  His eyes are as ever, bright, shining and looking within you!   The same H.
Cartier-Bresson, is the same photographer who informed everyone that he had seen a shooting star, rising skyward and perching on the
Arunachala Hills.  But no one had taken photograph of that shooting star.   (From Mountain Path, Aradhana, 2004)

I have seen one another photograph in Tamil Sri Ramana Vijayam, where Bhagavan, more or less in a similar condition, is lying on the cot in Nirvana room and it is as if we are seeing Him, from sideways,
and He is looking through us!

Arunachala Siva.
