60th Birthday (Jayanti) of Bhagavan Ramana
« on: February 17, 2009, 12:54:30 PM »
Bhagavan Ramana's Shashti-apta-purti was celebrated in December 1939.  Many hundreds of devotees were present in the Asramam and
Prof. G.V. Subbramaiah was also one among them.

He composed two verses for the occasions in Telugu and submitted
to Bhagavan Ramana.  These read:

1. Men do marry their own wives at their Shashti-apta-purti celebrations. Truly, we the so called men and women on earth
are all women, and you, Bhagavan Ramana, are the only Purusha
(man)!  So at your Shashi-apta-purti also, you must marry us all who are your own!

2. For the wedding, O Ramana, you are the bridegroom, you are
the priest, you are the congregation, you are the ritual and the
Mantra is Silence.

These verses were later included in Subbaramayya's book of verses,
Karuna Purna Sudhabdhi, the Nectareous Ocean of Grace.

One of the 108 holy names of Bhagavan, in fact the last one,
composed by Viswanatha Swami, says:  Om Purushottamaya Namah:
(Prostrations to the Only Male Principle, the great among the men.)
