Smt. Kamakshi Ramachandraiah
« on: February 01, 2009, 10:21:18 AM »
Kamakshi was the daughter of Munagala Venkatramaiah and she came to Bhagavan Ramana, to live in the Asramam, in 1945-46.
Kamakshi was fond of Vedaparayana and she used regularly attend
the chanting at 4.30 A.M. One morning, when she got up after Vedaparayana and prostrated to Bhagavan Ramana, He showed her a slip wherein was written: Om Namo Bhagavate Sri Ramanaya Namah, and told her to chant that everyday.  Kamakshi did that throughout her life.

Kamakshi was later married to Mr. O. Ramachandraiah, younger
brother of Origanti Venkatakrishnayya.  Kamakshi went to Andhra, after her wedding, and she had her share of material welfare problems, in her married life.  The couple in later years settled down in Tiruvannamalai.  Ramachandraiah translated the Five Hymns in
Telugu verses and Kamakshi helped him in the work.

Ramachandraiah's brother, Venkateswara Sarma has made a Hindi biography of Bhagavan Ramana titled Sri Ramana Charitamrit.  His another brother Krishna Bhikshu, Venkatakrishnaiah, is the author of Sri Ramana Leela, Telugu biography.  Munagala Venkatramaiah, Kamakshi's father, is of course, well known for his Talks with Sri
Ramana Maharshi.
