Miracles Do Happen
« on: January 26, 2009, 11:02:43 AM »
Natesa Iyer from Chidambram, met Bhagavan Ramana in 1922.
He moved from Chidambaram to Tiruvannamalai in 1930s and
was working as a kitchen supervisor in Arunachaleswara Temple.
He visited Sri Ramanasramam everyday and was eager to listen
to Veda Parayna.  When later he moved to Asramam as a kitchen
supervisor, he threw away all his cash and never touched money

Natesa Iyer wanted an Upadesa from Bhagavan Ramana and once when he was asked by Bhagavan Ramana as to what he knew
already, Iyer replied:  "I know nothing!"  Bhagavan told him:
"You know that you know nothing.  Find out that knowledge.
That is liberation."  (Talks No. 12, without mentioning Iyer's name).

In Sri Ramanasramam, even though he was given medical treatment
in Vellore, Iyer did not much improve and he knew that the end
was approaching.    He told Sri Ramananda that he would listen to
Veda Parayana on that Thursday evening. Sri Ramanananda was
wondering, how he could do, when he was extremely sick.  On
Thrusday evening, he passed away!  He indirectly indicated that he
would merge with Bhagavan Ramana, because Veda patasala boys
would six next to the Lingam in Bhagavan's samadhi while they chanted!

There is also one moving account of Natesa Iyer's passing away,
in Arunachala Ramana, Sep 1983 issue, by Bhupati Narayana
Raju.  This, I have written in one of  my posts under Reflections on Golden Eyes.
