Hi ... I was listening to a song from Simon and Garfunkel album ... I felt most of his songs makes us go after the inner quest although I could be wrong ... I am sure I have miles and miles to go but thought it might benefit someone by listening to some of his songs like "The dangling conversation" , "Sound of Silence" , "Faking it" etc .. In particular 'The Dangling conversation" is wonderful and have pasted it below

Its a still life water color,
Of a now late afternoon,
As the sun shines through the curtained lace
And shadows wash the room.
And we sit and drink our coffee
Couched in our indifference,
Like shells upon the shore
You can hear the ocean roar
In the dangling conversation
And the superficial sighs,
Are the borders of our lives.

And you read your emily dickinson,
And I my robert frost,
And we note our place with bookmarkers
That measure what weve lost.
Like a poem poorly written
We are verses out of rhythm,
Couplets out of rhyme,
In syncopated time
Lost in the dangling conversation
And the superficial sighs,
Are the borders of our lives.

Yes, we speak of things that matter,
With words that must be said,
Can analysis be worthwhile?
Is the theater really dead?
And how the room is softly faded
And I only kiss your shadow,
I cannot feel your hand,
Youre a stranger now unto me
Lost in the dangling conversation.
And the superficial sighs,
In the borders of our lives.

My dear varadharajan,

You are writing in the Forum after a long time.  "The dangling
conversation" is really nice.  In my case, while I was reading
T.S. Eliot about a few years back, the understanding of the Truth
began. His Waste Land is a wonderful poem and all his songs
are equally delightful.  He says:

"I have measured my life in coffee spoons.."

Kindly read the following four songs of T.S. Eliot, if you can lay
hands on those poems.

1. Waste Land.
2. East Coker
3. Dry Salvages
4. A Little Gidding

Arunachala Siva.
