Sivapraksam Pillai
« on: January 23, 2009, 09:40:04 AM »
Sri M. Sivaprakasam Pillai, came to Bhagavan Ramana when He
was in Virupakshi Cave in 1901-02 and got the Who am I?
upadesa handwritten by Bhagavan Ramana Himself.  Mr. Pillai
has written a number of short poems on the teachings of Bhagavan
Ramana and also about His life.  These are:

1. Sri Ramana Anugraha Tiru Ahaval
2. Sri Ramana Deva Malai
3. Sri Ramana Pada Malai
4. Sri Ramana Upadesa Tiru Ahaval
5. Sri Ramana Sadguru Malai
6. Sri Ramana Charita Tiru Ahaval
7. Vinnappam

All the above poems in Tamil are available in two small booklets
costing Rs 15 each.  David Godman, in his the Power of the Presence, Volume 1, has written a skech on Pillai, where he had translated a
few of these poems in English.

When Pillai left his body, Bhagavan Ramana has remarked:

Sivaprakasam Pillai has become Sivaprakasam (Siva-effulgence).

Arunachala Siva.
