Azhagamma Tirtham
« on: January 04, 2009, 09:59:31 AM »
Azhagamma Tirtham is the perennial well  between Bhagavan Ramana's
Shrine and the Kitchen/Dining Hall.  This well was identified by Bhagavan
Ramana, after Mother Azhagamma's mahanirvana, for the purposes
of digging and taking water for abulations for Siva Linga in Matrubhuteswarar temple.  This came after Pali Tirtham, which is
the first one as you enter Sri Ramansramam.  This Azhagamma Tirtham
or Sri Soundaryamba Tirtham is named also as Aghasamana Tirtham,
(the waters that would wash off one's sins) by Kavyakanta Tirtham.

During my last trip to Tiruvannamalai, when I asked Dr. Srinivasamurthy,
a medical doctor who is a permanent inmate of Asramam and also the
staff of Asramam, told me this name of Aghasamana Tirtham, to me.

Arunachala Siva.
