The Advent of Bhagavan Ramana
« on: December 30, 2008, 09:36:05 AM »
On this day, the 30th December 1879, the Light of the Universe,
Bhagavan Ramana was born in Tiruchuzhi.  This is as per English
Calendar and we are celebrating the 129th anniversary of his birthday,
called Jayanti.  As per Tamil Calendar, He was born on the Punarvasu  Star
in the Dhanur month.  As per this, His birth day falls on 11th Jan 2009
this time. On that day, after Siva and Uma had completed the procession
on the town streets, retired to the Bhuminathaswami Temple, minutes
after mid night.  At that time, Bhagavan Ramana, the Universal Guru
was born.  As soon as He was born, the midwife attending to Mother
Azhagammal, this old lady who was blind could suddenly see the light
in her eyes.  She cried in tears, O Avatara! O Avatara! As three old men
who was the star in Bethleham, and announced the arrival of  Jesus Christ,
this old lady became the first announcer of the birth of Bhagavan Ramana,
who is an avatara of Skanda, Kumarila Bhatta and Jnana Sambandha.

The One who  is the limitless Ocean of Sat-Chit-Ananda,
For whom all these worlds are but waves on the shores,
Steadily deep delving in the Heart Cave, to that Ramana,
Of the non-vacillating mind,  we contemplate in the Heart!

Arunachala Siva.
