Miracles Do Happen
« on: December 24, 2008, 11:24:12 AM »
T.K. Sundaresa Iyer came to Bhagavan Ramana even at a young age.
He was on completion of highschool education, appointed as a Teacher
in Tiruvannamalai High School and was greatly elated by this turn of
events.  He used to spend many hours with Bhagavan Ramana in the
Asramam.  On a particular day, after breakfast, Bhagavan was expounding
some intricate point in philosphy for the devotees.  Iyer was sitting in the
Old Hall listening to Bhagavan's words intently.  The clock struck 10 and
it soon became 10.45 AM.  Bhagavan Ramana turned to Sundaresa Iyer
and said:  "Why, fellow, have you not left for school?" Iyer said:
But, today is Sunday."

Bhagavan Ramana laughed heartily and said:  It is a funny way you
do your school work.  Today is Monday.  Run up.  Your Headmaster
is waiting at the gate looking for you to come!"

Sundaresa Iyer rushed to the school.  As he reached the gates, he
found the Headmaster standing at the entrance of the school, with
his eyes turned towards the path of Asramam.  The Headmaster then
said:  Why, have you forgotten that today is Monday and the Maharshi
has to remind you that today is a working day!"

Iyer then replied in wonder:  Yes, sir.  The Maharshi Himself had to
remind me and send me to the school!

long standing devotee of Bhagavan Ramana and it is he who wrote the
foreword to the Tamil Collected Works, as per Bhagavan Ramana's
instructions.  His memoirs have been almost lost and these were brought
out by David Godman, from the Sri Ramana Maharshi Archives, inside
Morvi Compound. The first editon in English came in the year 1990 only.)
