Miracles Do Happen
« on: December 13, 2008, 01:23:22 PM »
Sankarananda was from Andhra.  He was an officer in the postal
department.  He had been practising mantra japa and after a long
practice, he acquired 'mano laya', the stillness of mind.  He was always
found in a state of stupor, tending to fall asleep.  He could not attend
to his office work.  He took 6 months leave and came to Asram.  Since
manolaya would not lead to the Ultimate Truth, Bhagavan Ramana wanted
him adopt self enquiry.  He asked Kunju Swami and others to constantly
engage Sankarananda in talk and to take him for walk in the Hills.
Bhagavan Ramana told him about the self enquiry and Kunju Swami
was expalining the method during the daily walks to the Hills for several
days.  After sometime, by the Grace of Bhagavan Ramana, he switched over
to the path of self enquiry.  He soon became normal and went back to his
place of work, attended to the work dligently and even got promotion!
He became an ardent devotee of Bhagavan Ramana and spent time frequently with Bhagavan Ramana by going to Tiruvannamalai!

It was he, who accompanied Chinnaswami to Burma, later,  to buy teakwood for Maturbhutessvara Temple.
