Miracles Do Happen
« on: December 08, 2008, 10:46:37 AM »
T.K. Sundaresa Iyer, who was working as a teacher in a school in
Tiruvannamalai, was one of the earliest devotees of Bhagavan Ramana,
from 1920s.  In 1927, when the first edition of Tamil Collected Works,
was to be published, he was asked by Bhagavan Ramana to write a
foreword for the book.

In 1929, on the early morning of Deepavali, Sundaresa Iyer took his
bath and came to see Bhagavan Ramana in the Asram.  Bhagavan was
reclining on the sofa.  Ig was about 3.30 am. Sundaresa Iyer made the
usual prostration and sat before Him.  Suddenly, he saw an aura around
the head of Bhagavan Ramana.  It was like the glory with clusters of
evenly arranged flames, just as one sees around the deities of the temple
processions. Bhagavan's face shone with beaming smiles.  It appeared
to Iyer, that Bhagavan was giving darshan of Nataraja, the Lord of
the Cosmic Dance.  In his ecstasy, Iyer was singing hymns from Tevaram,
which he loved most.  This vision lasted for about half an hour.  When
Iyer reacted to Bhagavan Ramana about what he had seen, Bhagavan
Ramana gave a smile!
