General Tiruppugazh
« on: December 03, 2008, 01:35:45 PM »
There are hundreds of Tiruppugazh songs which are not specifically
related to any Muruga Shrines.  One such song reads as under:

They have red, spear-like eyes which cut the minds of
Even the yogis and the commoners and take away their hearts!
With dark clouds like locks, with  little smiles, with fragrant
And picturesque breasts and sweet tongues, and with,
Slender waists, and lotus like.... these women roam around
and take the deluded to bed,
When shall I leave this deficient life and the births that would
When shall I get the bliss of Silence, and the Pure Great State?

O the one with six handsome faces, nice foreheads, with ornaments,
With twelve graceful eyes and their studs,  and lotus like hands,
With golden sacred threads, with attires and hip-ornaments, and
With your golden feet and the peacock and the Spear,
O with complete beauty, the blessed son of three eyed Siva and Uma of the
Himalayas, O my Lord, please grace me!
