Sri Sankara says in Verse 4 the need for Ekabhakti to Siva.

The verse 4 reads as under:

There are thousands of devas in this world, who can confer me
a small fruit for my devotion,
I shall not be devoted to them even in my dreams
And I shall not care for the fruits that they may confer.
O Sambhu!  Even when Brahma and Vishnu are very close to you,
your feet are beyond their reach, I shall seek only that lotus feet!

Manikkavachagar also says in Tiruvachakam,

Shall I pray to anyone else?  Shall I be devoted to anyone else?
Shall I consider anyone else as my support?

The verse 58 reads as under:

O Pasupati!  One Sun gives brilliant light to the earth and the sky,
And pierces the darkness everyday! You are brighter than a crore of Suns!
How can I not know You?  How much darker must be my ignorance?
Please remove this darkness fully and show your brilliance to me!
