Song for leaving the 'I'
« on: November 21, 2008, 01:07:34 PM »
Tiruvesaravu, the Song for leaving the 'I', by Muruganar comprises
11 verses and is in Sri Ramana Sannidhi Murai.  This is modelled on
Tiruvesaravu of Saint Manikkavachagar, in Tiruvachakam.

Verse 1 reads as under:

Do not think that I am always behind the scene, and jumping
   for any talks,
And coming forward with a foolish mind to speak rubbish,
O Venkata, who always remains in Sadha-nishta, you took me,
To your golden feet, and my 'I has left for ever!

Verse 4 reads as under:

This wastrel was looking at women, was looking with other thoughts,
O Venkata, who always remain in Sadha-nishta looking at the Space,
You looked at me and lifted me from the lowly gutters,
Who was never looking within and was about to go rotten!
