Sivananda Lahari - 3
« on: November 21, 2008, 12:54:33 PM »
We shall take up the first two verses, viz., Verse No. 61 and Verse No. 76,
of Sivananda Lahari, in the order suggested by Bhagavan Ramana.

Verse 61 reads as under:

Like Angolam seeds are attracted by their own tree and get
   fixed on the tree,
Like the needles are attracted by the magnetic stone,
like the chaste woman is charmed by her husband,
Like the creeper winds around the tree, and the rivers
   merge in the ocean,
The contemplative mind merges in your lotus feet, and
that is the bhakti, I want to have, O Siva!

Verse 76 reads as under:-

O Siva, the destroyer of Manmatha!  The Lord of the world!
the god who mounts on the bull!
This is full of virtues, this has got a variety of stylish stances,
this has got a fast run,
This knows all the wishes of the Master, this has no deficiency
     and defects,
This has got all steady characters, this horse of my mind,
please take this and travel everywhere!
