Sri Ramana Ashtakam
« on: November 02, 2008, 02:44:57 PM »
One day, when Bhagavan Ramana and Kavyakanta Ganapati Sastri,
were sitting in Pachaiamman Kovil in the Hills, suddenly Ganapati
Sastri found Six Stars were descending from the sky, touching
Bhagavan Ramana's head and then leaving Him.  He was thrilled
immediately and became speechless.  The Maharshi also realized
the event.  Kavyakanta Ganapati Sastri then respectfully submitted:
"Bhagavan Ramana !  Now I have understood that you are Skanda
son of Siva!"  Bhagavan Ramana did not say anything.

Immediately Kavyakanta Ganapati Sastri composed eight stanzas
called Sri Ramana Ashtakam.  These eight verses were later incorporated
into Sri Ramana Chatvarimsat, Forty Verses in Praise of Sri Ramana.
