Naraka Chaturdasi
« on: October 27, 2008, 08:50:03 AM »
Deepavail or Naraka Chaturdasi is celebrated today.

Once on a Deepavali Day, Bhagavan Ramana explained the
significance of the festival to the devotees who were with Him.
He sang two verses.

The day that Narayana grinds to death the
Naraka-Ego, in the quest of Knowledge, inquiring
Whence the narkaka-I rises to rule the naraka-world
That day is sthe light festival of Naraka-Chaturdasi.

To search and stay the sinner, the naraka-ego,
Corrupted by the thought that one is he naraka-form,
The false body-tenement, and to shine as
The True Self, this is Deepavali indeed!

(Translation by Aruthur Osborne.)

Let us read and contemplate on these verses of Bhagavan Ramana
today.
