Can a disciple grow into Self Realization with a great Guru?
« on: October 24, 2008, 12:46:51 PM »
Once in 1938, one devotee asked Bhagavan Ramana:

"It is said by Kanchangad Swmi Ramadas, that the disciples after
spending some time with a great Guru, should leave for a separate
place for his own evolvement into Self Realization.  He should not
always remain with that great Guru, since, small plants cannot grow
into big trees, under the shade of a big banyan tree.  Is it correct?"

Bhagavan Ramana replied smilingly:

"A true devotee who is staying ever with a great Guru, as his shadow,
even if he wants to go away, where can he go?  What is going out?
What is coming in?  For every thing in life is a Sat Sangh or a
Guru Kula vasa."  Bhagavan then cited, Kaivalya Navaneetham,
Chapter II, verse 2.
