Jnani mentioned in Katha Upanishad
« on: October 23, 2008, 01:30:06 PM »
Once one Velluri Sivarma Sastri, wrote to Suri Nagamma, on
receipt of Sri Ramana Gita, from the latter.  He has said:

"I received Ganapati Muni's Sri Ramana Gita and also saw
Bhagavan Ramana's sloka "Hrudaya Guhara madhye.."
Subbraraya Sastri and Buchirama Sastri have written to me
about their visit to Tiruvannamalai.  They have said, 'We met
a Jnani who has been described in Katha Upanishad.' From
that day, I am also eager to see Him. My family ( sastra vasana)
is still not leaving me.  I know this is a great hurdle. You are
very gifted.  You are able to write about His teachings and life."

When this letter was shown to Bhagavan Ramana, He simply

A pandit himself had agreed that 'his family of scriptures' is
a hurdle for him!

(Suri Nagamma - Sri Ramansramam - Vazhvum Ninaivum, Tamil.)

Arunachala Siva.
