Can the outside actions determine a person?
« on: October 22, 2008, 11:50:50 AM »
Once Bhagavan Ramana told the devotees, in the presence of
Annamalai Swami:

"One cannot decide about a person by seeing his outside activities."

Bhagavan then mentioned the following stories in this context.

1. The life of Tondar Adip Podi Azhvar.

Here is one of the 12 Vaishanava Tamil Saints, called Azhvars.
He only prayed to his Guru, Sri Nammazhvar and never prayed
to Narayana.  He composed only one poem consisting of 10
verses and this too on his Guru, Nammazhvar, and this compsition
is called Kannin Nun Sirut tambu......."I am like one of the small
knots of a great rope called my guru...."  This is one of the 4000
songs of Nalayira Divya Prabandham of Azhvars.

2. The life of Kadu Veli Siddhar.

I have written about him in one of the earlier posts.

3. Sri Krishana's life.  He appeared as a man behind women,
marrying 8 or 6 women.  He asked Arjuna to kill Kauvaravas.
But He is a Yogisvara.

4. The life of Chudalai and her husband, the King Chikidvaja.

This is in Yoga Vasishta.  I have written the story at the instance
of Dr. Raju.

Arunachala Siva.
