Guhai Namasivaya's Poems - (73)
« on: September 22, 2008, 05:51:04 PM »
Arunagiri Andati:  continues.....

1. O Arunachala! Those who devotees, who always melt with
love for you and always remember you, only can see your
dance in this life.  It is not easy for others.

2. O king of Annamalai! the God who destroys the bodies of
gods!  Unless one loves you, what is the use of one punishing
his body with fast etc., What is merely the use of reading scriptures,
it will not remove the karmas and 'malams'.  You cannot kill a
snake, by merely beating the ground near its snake hill.*

(*This is a dig at yoga sastra.  Kundalini is a snake.  Trying to
raise the snake from mooladhara, without love and devotion
for Siva, will not yield any yogic result.)

3.  O Arunachala!  I have not yet overcome the love for this body.
I have not overcome my desire for ego, karma and maya.  I do
not your greatness.  While the crows and dogs will come to my
body, (afer death) saying: "it is ours!", the fox will pick the
body as its food.

4. O Aruanchala!  Not found out yet by Vedas.  Beyond the reach
of Hari, the three eyed god!   Without contemplating on your
Form, this lowly dog, is caring for this body, without understanding
that it is ready food for the foxes after death.

5. O Arunachala, the god of Annamalai, where all dharmas flourish,
without praising you, to overcome death and birth, I am praying
to the other gods, which are corpses, dying and taking birth. I am
not even praising your devotees, in the least.

to be continued.....

Arunachala Siva.
