Guhai Namasivaya's Poems - (4)
« on: September 18, 2008, 01:44:24 PM »
Guhai Namasivaya was doing Siva worhsip in his Cave everyday,
went for begging and after food, wrote poems and slept on the
slopes of the Hill.  He used to go to the Temple, and from the
entrance, just say 'Hello' to Siva and go away.

One day, one another Siva devotee saw the yogi and thought
that he is disrespecting Siva.  He became angry and when the
yogi came next day, he beat the yogi on his head from back.
The Yogi turned back, thought for a while, understood his folly.
From next day, the yogi went inside the temple everyday, took
holy ash and sandal paste from the priest, prostrated to Siva and
came back, after circumambulating.

After a hundred years of life, Guhai Namasivaya prayed to Siva,
to take him to his abode.  Siva appeared before the yogi and
told him to sing a song per day for another hundred years.
Thus the folklore says that the yogi lived for 200 years and
on a day, he merged with Siva, during his Nirvikalpa Samadhi.
His Samadhi is still there on the Hill and Bhagavan Ramana was
living inside that Cave, and during that time only, He picked up
the palmyra leaves and copied about 540 poems of the yogi.

Now, about the poems.
