Arunachala Pilgrimage - (2)
« on: September 17, 2008, 06:48:03 PM »
I met some interesting people in Tiruvannamalai.

One Sri Kumar, an aged man, a Keralite, had come all the way
from Tirunelveli.  He is working as a store keeper in a cement
godown.  He was attracted to Bhagavan, after reading Paul
Brunton, about 25 years back.  Bhagavan had made him to
continue in the job, even after a formal retirement, given him
just adequate money for the family.  He comes once in a while,
in bus, travelling about 30 hours, one way.  He says he has
got immense peace with Bhagvavan's guidance in his life.  He
has not amassed wealth.  But his needs are always met.  He
has read a few books in Malayalam, on Bhagavan and does spend
a lot of time in meditation.  He has turned a vegetarian since 20
years.  He says his able to feel the 'unbearable lightness of the
Being" in his life.

I met one young boy from Andhra Pradesh, aged about 24,
working as a software engineer.  His name is Jalandhar Reddy.
He says he has been attracted to Bhagavan since a last few years.
He is reading Be as You are, of David Godman, a Telugu translation.
He says that his work has never been a problem and is having
peace in workplace, home and in life.

I met David Godman, after telephoning to him.  He came in the
evening during Arti time, to the Ashram.  He spoke to me for
about 10 minutes and said:  "Please keep your hold on Bhagavan,
without leaving at any time..  Read books and attend to all the work in
life, keeping Him in the Heart."

to be contd....

Arunachala Siva.

Dear subramanian,
You are lucky to be there in Ashram but forum went literally into hibernation because of absence of contribution from the hero member.
