Stray thoughts...

There just cannot be any transgression with God or the Pure Self!

   Sri Deepa,

Kannadasan is our time Siddha. However his personal life may have been, what flowered through him as songs cannot be said as to have flowered through an ordinary human mind.

Look at these lines -

oruvar mattum kudiyirundhal thunbam aedhumillai
If just one inhabits inside, there is no suffering

this is a pinnacle of all religions. what lines indeed. These songs are pure Jnana.

The pennalla pennalla song is simply so cute. Why to resist seeing the God as your lover? why should we resist? it does not become a sin. Why not become a Radha, we Jivatmans, and sing to Krishna, our lover, Paramatman! (Infact, in Radha-Krishna Bhava, i feel, it was Krishna who was Jivatman, and Radha Paramatman, Krishna became a Jivatman in order to become one with Radha - just my own feeling from within, Radha was everything to Krishna, i just cannot explain through words)

Coming back to this song, the simplicity of the song is so adorable, its a child Rhyme, innocent and its so pure, what they say as Platonic love. This transcends just everything.

What a beautiful way to worship the Supreme Goddess, is SHE or HE not the real 'porul' that we should fall in love with?

She is beautiful, the supreme Shakti.

This Dhyana if you have noticed does not arouse any rajas feelings, it is just so satvic, and innocent, and these last 2 lines:

Methaiyil naanum seeratta
(when I adore her in the bed)
Pirantha moganam
(it will give birth to mohana raaga)

may sound blasphemous, but, is it not the final merging of Jivatman into Paramatman, how can there be a fusion when there is just one? ShivaShaktyaikyam

Very happy to read your views.

A very beautiful poem:

If all your thoughts become reality, there is no God!
If you keep thinking about what already happened,
there will never be peace of mind!
A concluded story does not continue in God’s books!
A continued story does not end, in a man’s house!

A heart with thousand gates, in it rise a thousand thoughts
Someone comes, someone goes…
their comings and goings never noticed
If just one inhabits inside, there is no suffering
While the one stays, if another comes in,
there will be never be peace of mind

Where life begins, where and how it ends,
this is the path, this is the journey… no one knows
The paths keep changing and finally the journey ends
if the changes are understood, then one becomes sober

   Confused? Stressed?
Indecisionin your heart?
Is there trembling in life? (Meaning is there fear?)

There are thousands of things in life (that’s life)
At every door step there will be worries
Whatever problems that may come to you
They won’t go away of you sit there wilting (in hoplessness)
If you have a strong heart
There will be peace till the end

Transform your poor heart
Into a huge mansion
Sing epic songs every day
Leave tomorrow to God
And seek peace in today’ life
There are millions of people worse off than you
Think about it and seek peace

Cautionary advice / Re: please educate on latest tips for precautions
« on: September 05, 2013, 12:05:36 PM »
Sri Graham and Friends,

If Bhagavan saw fit to give this advice then it is clear that these situations can be avoided and that it is NOT karma, but dangerous practices that are to blame.

Parable of the "elephant God"

"Let me tell you a story. In a forest there lived a holy man who had many disciples. One day he taught them to see God in all beings and, knowing this, to bow low before them all. A disciple went to the forest to gather wood for the sacrificial fire. Suddenly he heard an outcry: 'Get out of the way! A mad elephant is coming!' All but the disciple of the holy man took to their heels. He reasoned that the elephant was also God in another form. Then why should he run away from it? He stood still, bowed before the animal, and began to sing its praises. The mahut of the elephant was shouting: 'Run away! Run away!' But the disciple didn't move. The animal seized him with its trunk, cast him to  one side, and went on its way. Hurt and bruised, the disciple lay unconscious on the ground. Hearing what had happened, his teacher and  his brother disciples came to him and carried him to the hermitage. With the help of some medicine he soon regained consciousness. Someone asked him, 'You knew the elephant was coming - why didn't you leave the place?' 'But', he said, 'our teacher has told us that God Himself has taken all these forms, of animals as well as men. Therefore, thinking it was only the elephant God that was coming, I didn't run away.' At this the teacher said: 'Yes, my child, it is true that the elephant God was coming; but the mahut God forbade you to stay there. Since all are manifestations of God, why didn't you trust the mahut's words? You should have heeded the words of the mahut God.' (Laughter)

General Discussion / Re: The Gospel of Strength
« on: September 05, 2013, 12:00:07 PM »

What we want is strength, so believe in
yourselves ….. Make your nerves strong. What
we want is muscles of iron and nerves of steel.
We have wept long enough. No more weeping,
but stand on your own feet and be men.

When Bhagavan passed by his hut that afternoon, he asked Cohen whether he had eaten his lunch - something he had never done before. Cohen replied that he had eaten just a little rice and vegetable. To which Bhagavan replied, Rice and vegetable? That is very good. When I was in Virupaksha cave, for days there would not be any food. On some days somebody would bring some rice. I would add water to the cooked rice and then eat it without salt. You have got rice, vegetables, salt, and yogurt on top of it. Cohen told me, After that day, not even once was I distracted by any thought of food. He added, That is the advantage when you stay with the Master. Every defect is rooted out once and for all. Living with a master is itself a spiritual sadhana. (Human Gospel)

Bhagavan, you have given a home for this body. Will you please
give me an eternal home for my soul also? It is only for this that
I have come here severing all ties with family and worldly affairs.
Bhagavan, still walking, turned to him after a little time and said,
Cohen, your firm conviction brought you here. Where is the room
for doubt?
(Human Gospel)

D.: A young man from Mysore gave a written slip to Sri Bhagavan and waited for an answer. He had asked Sri Bhagavan to say where other Mahatmas could be found whom he might approach for guidance. He confessed that he had left his home without informing his elders  in order that he might seek God through Mahatmas. True, he knew nothing of God or of search for Him. Therefore he desired to see Mahatmas.

Sri Bhagavan simply returned the note saying: I must answer any and every question. Unless I do so I am not great. The boy tore away the slip and wrote another, which said, “You are kind to squirrels and hares. You fondle them when they struggle to run away from you. Yet  you are indifferent to human beings. For instance, I have left my home and am waiting here for a fortnight. I have had no food some days. I  am struggling. Still you do not care for me.”

M.: Look here. I am not endowed with television. God has not bestowed that gift on me. What shall I do? How can I answer your questions? People call me Maharshi and treat me like this. But I do not see myself as a Maharshi. On the other hand everyone is a Maharshi  to me. It is good that you in this early age are attempting to seek God. Concentrate on Him. Do your work without desiring the fruits thereof. That is all that you should do.
