My friend, its your interpretation that needs to be re-looked :)

:) Ofcourse its true that you have to use another thorn to extract one thorn.
When one cannot do Self inquiry continuously ... Annamalai Swami suggested I AM Brahman attitude. its a must. see the upadesha saram verses i posted below.

Sri Tushnim,

When you say when one cannot do Self Enquiry continuesly, of what avail it would be to have "I am Brahman" Attitude for such a one who is not able to do Self Enquiry continuesly?

If one is not able to do Self Enquiry continuesly, then what i infer from your view is that, one has to remind oneself that He is That, through what you say, "I am Brahman" and this should eventually again lead to the enquiry who this "I" that is affirmed as Brahman? Therefore, this 'I am Brahman' attitude is just a method by which one strives to come resume Self Enquiry.

So, all this cycles of "I am Brahman" attitude, affirmation, etc... should further draw you back to who is that is affirmed as Brahman? Who am I? There is no excuse for Self Enquiry. This is not what Annamalai Swami has said.

If it is so, then "I am Brahman" has to draw you back to Self Enquiry!

Verse 9: Bhava sunyasad bhava susthitih bhavana balad bhaktir uttama

Bhavana balat : based upon the strenghth of thought [ie, i am he -- from previous verse]

sad bhava sustitih: (the meditator gains) firm abidance in the Self.

Bhava sunya : independent of thoughts

Bhaktir uttamam: This is supreme devotion.

if one condemns Bhavana Bhalad , how can one gain bhava-sunya sustitih ?

One that abides speaks not, and the one that does not abides, speaks!

:) "D: What is that which is called the inner worship or worship of the attributeless?
M: In texts such as the Ribhu-gita, the worship of the attributeless has been elaborately explained
(as a separate discipline). Yet, all disciplines such as sacrifice, charity, austerity, observance of
vows, japa, yoga, and puja, are, in effect, modes of meditation of the form ‘I am Brahman’. So, in
all the modes of disciplines, one should see to it that one does not stray away from the thought ‘I
am Brahman’. This is the purport of the worship of the attributeless"

This is what he said!  Now tell me whats  the context he said this ?
and whats the context he said what you pointed out?

Sri Tushnim, I have already expressed myself over this as follows:

Ultimately, we have to use another thorn inorder to remove the thorn that is pricked inside. We cannot used the same thorn that is pricked inside to remove itself.

Therefore, as Bhagavan says "Yet, all disciplines such as sacrifice, charity, austerity, observance of vows, japa, yoga, and puja, are, in effect, modes of meditation of the form ‘I am Brahman’. So, in all the modes of disciplines, one should see to it that one does not stray away from the thought ‘I am Brahman’"

It is advised to see to it that one does not stray away from the thought ‘I am Brahman’ through those mediums and not without them.

Bhagavan revealed Self Enquiry, to be one of the most effective methods to annihilate the "I"

Tushnim

It is clear Bhagavan has said in Sat Darshanam:
satyayA pratyayA, nAham udEti thathra.

Truth is that whence there is non emergence of I

this discussion will happen only after "Naan" uditha piragu (Emergence of I) and Bhagavan says remain without Udhiyaamal (non emergence of I)

Why do you emerge in order to declare your discovery "I AM BRAHMAN"

it is just thought in emergence. To whom are you trying to convey? why break from meditation? why emerge and give space to all these vAsanAs?

If you are not to stray away from "I am Brahman"... can you say "I am bound" ?

who says so?
