Friends,

When it rains, don't we use the umbrella? Doesn't the umbrella help us in not getting wet?

Sri Jewel,

I do not see any difference between Gurus.

It is alright to say that one does not agree with Sri Ramakrishna and his teachings;that is quite understandable.Yet,one cannot say that Sri Ramakrishna meant some other thing when he had expressed himself in unequivocal fashion.

I long to express the same.

The quote clearly states the need for going in solitude even as highlighted by you, for such ones who are immersed in worldliness would benefit by going to solitude. There was no need for debating over it! But Logic corrupts innocence!

Is it simply that people turn up at Ramanashram or Ramakrishna Math, don't the devotees themselves know these things? Bhagavan himself has said that Power cannot be denied.

When an opportunity strikes I bet each and every one here would love to go to that place that is close to ones heart, be it Ramanshram or Ramakrishna Math. Simply bringing in Advaitic logic and rational i felt is needless. This is why the Master also has said that reasoning beyond a point is not advised.

It was merely a Sadhana Tip, and to highly rationalise these things is a great impediment!

Had Ramana or Ramakrishna been alive today, how many would say and practice this advaitic jnyAna, and say, Ramana and Ramakrishna is within, there is no need to go Arunachala. I mean, we need not bring Advaita to practice. Advaita has to be within.

Duality is not at a contradiction with advaita! Duality nicely merges in Advaita! A true Advaitin is comfortable with duality as well as the nonduality in duality :)!!

Quote
Duality is not at a contradiction with advaita.
Dear Sri Tushnim, I agree completely with You. To go beyond duality we dont need to be in quarel with it.

True, So in that case, the advaitin would not have a problem with the following original quote, from which this discussion has sprouted -

The mind cannot dwell on God if it is immersed day and night in worldliness, in worldly duties and responsibilities; it is most necessary to go into solitude now and then and think of God. To fix the mind on God is very difficult, in the beginning, unless one practices meditation in solitude. - The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna

How nice and what beautiful expression.

This is how it should feel to read anything in its own language. As primary language of bible is English, we are able to feel that pulse and quickly resonate directly in the heart, similarly, should one be slightly familiar with samskrit or tamizh in order to taste the same ambrosia as thus.

A disciple asked how he could recognize his own natural primal condition

Bh. Absolute freedom from thoughts is the state conducive to such recognition

Dear Sir,

yes, mouna is the utmost eloquence, the following quotes of Bhagavan are noteworthy in the same line -

-   It is the mind that stands between and veils our happiness.

-   The wavering of the mind is a weakness arising from the dissipation of its energy in the shape of thoughts.

-   The emergence of thoughts is the root of all mischief

-   Take not notice of the ego and its activities but see only the light behind.

Since what I have said is not being even considered for investigation , I withdraw -- I have no purpose in a thread where the idea is not even considered!!

Do you observe that you are not even considering what others have had to convey? and withdrawn.

I withdraw -- I have no purpose in a thread where the idea is not even considered!!

which I is this speaking, this needs to be traced back.

Udai,

will you send your children to cinema theater to study and instruct them to study watching the movie? Would you tell them that it is nothing about the sound, but ones own quietitude that is within.

Your reasonings may be right, but they are misplaced.

Reasoning has to end, That is why I have been telling you not to reason any more.

Ramana said: The Beyond will take care of itself. You are helpless there. No effort can reach it.

Implicit faith, is a rare blessing!

Udai,

You seem to present your views from an exalted point of view of jyAnA, but unaware, your views carry so much duality in most of your day to day conversations.

I see that you are needing some spice occasionally, :) let it be.. it has to go on till it all comes out.

physically whether one is amongst people or alone does not matter.

For some, it may matter, for some it may not matter. each suits oneself.
