There are countless great personages; my salutations to them all.

Beholding in their lotus-heart
the charm and bearing of the Moon-faced one,
enjoying the Supreme Bliss, (many are the great personages...)

Enjoyer of the singing of Samans! One as handsome as Cupid!
(Many are) the blessed pre-eminent persons.

(Many are) those who (mentally) remaining with the Lord found in the mind, behold well His Form.

(Many are) those who immediately surrender
their heart-lotus at His feet.

(Many are those) on the True Path of highest knowledge, singing and conversing about the Supreme One known as the Sanctifier of the Fallen, who know the ragas, notes and rhythm.

With the gem-studded strings of Hari's virtues shining on their necks,
crores are the devotees in the world,
With understanding, love and compassion,
[many are] those who protect the entire world with their nectarine glances!

(Many are those who are) well-known for continually seeing
in their eyes the lovely Lord with exceedingly charming gait,
attaining horripilation remain delightfully immersed in the Ocean of bliss.

(Many are the great personages) besides: the great Bhagavatas, the blessed sages,
Moon, Sun, sage Sanaka, saga Sanandana,
Lords of the Directions, celestials, attendants of Kubera,
Prahlada, Narada, Thumburu,
Hanuman, Siva, sage Suka,
Brahma, best among Brahmanas,
the supremely holy ones, the eminent persons and the eternal ones
those who always experience Supreme Bliss.

Raghuvara! There are countless great personages who – in order that there could sprout in them the true devotion towards You, joyfully sing the blissful chant of Your virtues, describing the greatness of Your body, Your name, Your might and courage, Your calmness of mind and the truth of words uttered by You, understanding Your mind which disproved the wicked paths; I offer my salutations to all of them.

There are countless great personages who - attaining a very long life and uninterrupted experience of bliss along with joy of Bhaava, Raga and Laya etc., became the benefactors of this Thyagaraja by understanding the secrets of Srimad-Bhagavatam, Ramayana, Srimad-Bhagavad-Gita etc., Vedas, sciences and epics, the secret of the six methods of formal worship like, Saiva and others, the inner minds of thirty-three crores celestials; I offer my salutations to all of them.

At the time their love redoubles,
(many are) those meditate on His name.
(Many are) the true followers
of the one praised by Tyagaraja!

What a wonderful relationship is this, that of a Guru and Disciple, very intense. What more can we do, but get soaked in it. What a blessed soul was Sri mahendranath gupta. What kind of tapas they may have done to earn such proximity of Guru. It only creates a prayer of yearning within, wont we also get such a blessing some day!

Sometimes simplicity is looked down upon, as ordinary, but in it some find precious treasures, in it is everything!

How can one speak of him as Brahmavid (knower of Brahman).
Brahman can never be an object to be known.

Where do you search me?
I am with you
Not in pilgrimage, nor in icons
Neither in solitudes
Not in temples, nor in mosques
Neither in Kaba nor in Kailash
I am with you O man
I am with you
Not in prayers, nor in meditation
Neither in fasting
Not in yogic exercises
Neither in renunciation
Neither in the vital force nor in the body
Not even in the ethereal space
Neither in the womb of Nature
Not in the breath of the breath
Seek earnestly and discover
In but a moment of search
Says Kabir, Listen with care
Where your faith is, I am there.

Thanks for the information Sri Atmavichar,

There are 2 known english books, one by By A. Narasimha Bhatt is said to be the best available book in english, but unfortunately has been out of publication or unavailable for few years now. The other is Dim Tims Muses Translation Explanation Commentry of Dvgs Mankuthimmana Kagga by Sampath, Ra Shi which is also slowly running out of stock lately, but is good enough to assimilate the essence. This is the book that i have, apart one book in kannada.

Meanwhile, you can refer these sites, they are slowly updating the verses day by day -

Just reproducing very wise words of Sri Graham from the Interactive page as regards to Forum, which I felt is important to remember once again.

The purpose of this forum is to help those who need information to find it with ease. To assist those who seek genuine enlightenment to overcome their concerns and perceived difficulties through the knowledge of other members.

However, like every other forum, there will be useful as well as not-so-useful content. I recommend visitors to be cautious about applying anything they read on the forum to their lives, unless it is also clearly stated in the Vedas, as these are the final authority.

Thank you,

With prayers,

Sri Atmavichar,

It is a wonderful news to me that Kagga has been rendered in tamil and by your far relative is great news. I would be much obliged if you can let me know the publications, I would be interested in purchasing as well, as there are a few more persons I know of here, who would be very much interested as well.

Thank you.

Silence

One day a young man visited Sri Ramanasramam with some evil purpose. Entering the hall and taking his seat in front he began to put all sorts of questions to Sri Bhagavan. He wanted to extort hush-money from the ashram by exposing Sri Bhagavan as a hypocrite. He had already tried this trick successfully with some rich monks. By repeated practice he had cultivated this art into a paying profession. Having gained success elsewhere, he had come to Sri Ramanasramam to try his trick there.

Sri Ramana's own method of meeting insolence, malice, jealousy, misbehaviour, etc., of others, was the observance of complete silence. In fact, he preached and taught also by silence. His silence was very powerful. Such a powerful weapon of his battled and disarmed all aggressive and insolent persons.

Indeed, silence had become Sri Ramana's inherent nature.

It was his impregnable armour against attacks from people of all sorts. So, when the youth tried his best to draw Sri Ramana into a hot discussion or some talk or expression to catch him somewhere, Sri Ramana remained completely silent. Hence the poor youth's purpose was foiled. Though the youth was belching out foul language Sri Ramana did not utter a single word, and was all along calm and unperturbed. At last, after exhausting all his resources, the youth saw the impossibility of achieving his object, so he had to admit defeat and quit the ashram.

I see there is no Lock facility, God wills it to be open :) but i conclude myself from this topic anymore. It is a call to primarily focus on Bhagavan's teaching.
