Dear Hari,

just to facilitate understanding, i just got an analogy for you:

Imagine a flat pan set on a fire, the smoke that comes due to the heat (gunas) is mind but the Self is just the Pan. The smoke is not the pan, yet from the pan. the same way, the mind is not the self, yet it is from self and not really self but of Self.

What ever shape the smoke may take like the clouds, it has no effect on the pan (Self) The shapes of smoke is as true as it is seen.

Even the inference that the pan to be self is merely for the sake of communication, it is not some matter like the pan. The Pan (self) is the substratum of all.

Dear Kicsi,

As you have rightly observed the 1st and 3rd ones are Japa malas, especially, Rudraksha is akin to Shiva, and since Arunachala is Shiva swarupa, you can use them for your japa. It is most appropriate and moreover, Rudrakshas (fruits) are said to have direct effect on ones physic and energies, they have a lot to facilitate ones sadhana, kundalini sciences. It shields the one wearing from negative energies, and thus helps one to focus in meditation. More detailed information can be got from several websites. the third one looks like a sandal beeds rosary. It is said to be Vishnu Swarupa as it is Vishnu who is a lover of Sandal. However you could use either of the two for japa. You can chant any name of God as your heart desires.

Those magnets that look like Lingams, i do not feel right, the are not persay actually lingam, they are merely shaped as lingam. these magnets have no usage in traditional right spiritual practices. Magnets are more used in occult sciences. They have no place in traditional spiritual sadhana, even though there may be many significances.

Hope this is of some help

The number of beeds 54 or 108 or even 27 are only for convinience. You may use the numbers as you feel comfortable.

Hari

the reality of the existence of wave is as real as the reality of its seer. it is as real as the mind is. that is all.

Just like it is the aspect of tongue to taste, the eyes to see the ears to hear and so on. but they are all part of the same one

it is unexplosively explosive!

quite heavy actually some times, are these insights! In a way that the Self is unperceivable by it-Self, and yet, there is unperceivable perception. Or we can say as, unknowable knowing!

The Gods are different aspects of same Single source, the aspect of caring, loving, affection, forms the Mother aspect, that is the Devi Tatva. The aspect of protecting from the wicked etc forms the Vishnu aspect, and the aspect of destruction is Rudra, and the aspects of creation is Brahma. These are all in the same source as your would like to see.

If you are inclined to Devi worship, then all the aspects of protection, care, destruction, creation, are found in Her. She is Poorna, complete absolute. Or if you are inclined to worship Shiva or Vishnu or any other God.

some more stary thoughts:

as there cannot be a source of that which pervades everywhere. That which pervades everywhere is itself the source.

It is boggling or shattering or the sheer limitlessness is thus baffling !

Dear Sri Anil,

a stray thought passed over:

"the changefullness is also the changelessness."

When it is clear that the waves are nothing but the same water as the ocean, there comes what we call a shadow end or a shadow annihilation of any sort of further exertion thereafter.

Maya is also the 'Aham' and there is no maya thenceforth. Ignorance is also knowledge, there is no ignorance thenceforth. as Jnaneshwar sang, knowledge and ignorance like husband and wife chop each other's head and vanish like a shadow that never was.

just stray musings..

Dear Kicsi,

experiences such as yours are really inspiring!

real journey is within, the initial outward journey is merely to push us to the path within.

The kingdom of heaven is within us, as so is said.

Saint Tirunavukkarasar says
that without Hari, there is no wife for Siva.

Thanks sir, reflective thoughts. Also, from a trusted source, it was revealed that in Tirupati, it is actually Mohini swarupa as told by a top priest there. it seems the idol has long hair, like a woman, and there are many mysteries surrounding it.

Some say it to be Murugan also.

wonderful thoughts sir, very reflective...

Jyoti, you always ask the most unexpected questions :) initially looking at your name i presumed you to be from india and wondered how questions that you ask come from you :)

Vishnu has a son, Shashta, Aiyappan, when he became Mohini and begot this wonderful child from Shiva.

Also, the Cupid God, Manmatha is said to be of Vishnu's source only and some times, he is considered as his child. i do not have more information, as i myself have never thought in detail about why Vishnu and Lakshmi have no children.

Personal musings, Vishnu is neither male, female or the third. Shiva had to give half of his body to Parvati and revealed Ardhanaariswara, however, Vishnu Himself is Lakshmi, or Lakshmi herself is Vishnu, they are eka swarupa, not two. Only one.

What is Vishnu:

viShNO  vEvEshti vyApnOti iti vishnuh - That which pervades everywhere is Vishnu. Such being the case, there is no another. There is no question of children.

i feel, we have to adhere to the rules of the forum. It is to the best interest of visitors and members to abide by the rules of the forum, so i chose to not respond or post any information pertaining to persons subject to the rules of the forum. This also is one tapas, a discipline. However my heart feels exception for traditional Acharyas, such as Sringeri Parampara Gurus and Kanchi Maha Swami.

Since i opened this topic, just felt like expressing as morally felt obliged to respond.
