Subramaniam Sir

Many thanks for your prompt replies .

Subramaniam Sir

Thanks for your detailed updates . Glad that you had a good refreshing time at the Ashram barring the injury to your finger . Sometimes these sort of things happen on a pilgrimage and we really cant know the real reasons for the same . Anyway I am sure by Bhagwan's grace the finger will heal quickly and be back to normal .
I just have few queries :
1) Is the evening Tamil Parayana at 6.45 p.m or 6.20 p.m .I thought it was daily at 6.45 p.m? Due to winter have they changed time ?
2) Is the Ribhu Gita Chanting being done in Tamil / Sanskrit ?
3) You hand mentioned that you had bought the books of DV Gundappa at the Ashram .Can you throw more light on it i.e its publisher , price etc
4) Details of the book on Pattinathar that you got at Seshadri Sawmigal's book shop .

So happy that you met Sri Khanna ( whose father Merged with Arunachala ) and had a good visit .
Take Care of your finger .

Annamalai Swamiji is crystal clear in his thoughts. I have not seen writings of other disciples of Bhagawan being so crystal clear. Just my musings...

Dear Sanjay ji,
:) Thats what I believe too. Annamalai Swami was perhaps the least educated of the others too -- Still his teachings are absolutely spot on.

I have come to believe that Annamalai Swami is the Vivekananda of Ramana :) ... He expresses his teachings perfectly.

Due Credit must also go to David Godman for clearly capturing what  Annamalai Swami  said and bringing it out in print .Equal Credit must also go to Annamalai Swami's Caretaker Sundaram for acting as Annamalai Swami's Translator .

Om Peace

Everyone in times of danger thinks of his mother. The Supreme Goddess is the Mother of all the worlds. She is variously called as Lakshmi, Sarasvati, and Tripurasundari. If we remember Her even once a day, we will get over our difficulties with amazing ease.- Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamigal

Suppose at the moment when "Hurt Takes Place"
you make no attempt to change the state.
The mind is allowed to remain as it is.
Just Recognize ... Exactly at that moment ... that there is a Still Presence, the "I AM"...
Mind goes on ... on and on ... and tup! Drops!

You do not try to make any attempt. Just make sure you do not say "I am troubled"... The "Feelings" remain. The Thoughts remain... just dont drag them onto yourself by saying "i am uncomfortable now"... and remaining as "I AM"... allow all that ...

have you ever tried this ?

I appreciate what you are trying to convey .
What I was trying to convey was that when you are agitated / disturbed , do not allow the mind to become overtly "reactive" and start blaming others for the problem ( even if others are the cause for your problem directly / indirectly ) and I choose the route of doing some chanting to cool myself and get back to the business of searching my misplaced document and got it .
Some people can do what you suggest and get back .
Om Peace .

Nochur Acharya describes some situations as best opportunities to do self enquiry. These are occassions when "I" thought is most pronoounced. The most suitable time is when extreme anger (rage) or extreme hurt takes place inside you.

Also when u misplace some important document /object and really frustrated/agitated  where you kept it is a good time to test our self awareness :)
Today I had a test of the same .I had kept an important Govt. Document in a folder  and thought I had kept it in a safe place .Tomorrow I had to take it the Govt.Office and casually went to the the place where I had kept it but was shocked to see it not there . I check the other alternative places and it was not there and I got very frustrated going through many of my files and folders and it was not there .I really got agitated as I remember keeping it quite safely . Then I remembered this thread and considered it as test for myself :) So I dropped my search , went to my Prayer Altar , completed my daily short Shiva Puja and then Chanted Siva Sahasranama Stotram ( I do it daily but when I cant do it in morning ,I do it in evening ) and had a good prayer session and after that went straight to my desk and opened a folder that I had never seen earlier and Lo that Document was there in that folder  :)
I had checked all the folders except that  particular folder but I got the idea of the same only after cooling myself with the prayer  :)

Om Peace .

Some people pray to God in arati: Main murakha khala kami – I am stupid, wicked and lustful. They do not really believe what they are saying. It is a hypocritical prayer, because nobody believes that he is a fool. Before God he utters the prayer, but before the world he says, "I am not like that."

Thoppukkaranam and Super-brain Yoga

Super-brain yoga is an old news but just trying to connect the link between this and deivathin kural…..
Today i.e Tue 8 Jan 2012 is the Aradhana Day of Kanchi Mahaswmaigal and I found it useful to share this info about how our own Traditional Practices as explained by Kanchi Mahaswamigal is now finding Scientific Validation

From Deivathin Kural::

Humour / Re: Solve this Puzzle : Where is the Missing $1?
« on: January 08, 2013, 02:49:09 PM »
Each person paid $9. So three people paid $27. $25 is with Manager. $2 is with bell boy.

This is how Maya works I guess :)

Congrats . Yes That is the way Maya works  :)

Humour / Solve this Puzzle : Where is the Missing $1?
« on: January 08, 2013, 02:36:27 PM »
Three people check into a hotel. They pay $30 to the manager and go to their room. The manager suddenly remembers that the room rate is $25 and gives $5 to the bellboy to return to the people. On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that $5 would be difficult to share among three people so he pockets $2 and gives $1 to each person. Now each person paid $10 and got back $1. So they paid $9 each, totalling $27. The bellboy has $2, totalling $29. Where is the missing $1?

Try your hand with this, and post your answers if you can solve it.

Will announce the solution later
