Subramanian Sir

Thanks for your reply . As regards the dance song of Muruga even Pamban Swamigal has composed such a one in his famous song "Panchamrutha Vannam"

Subramaniam Sir

I was referring to the incident when Arunagirinathar tries to commit suicide by jumping from Arunachala Temple tower and Lord Subramanya saves him and gives him darshan as well as upadesa .So is it the Subramanya near the tower that gave him the darshan ?

Subramaniam Sir

Which Subramanya gave his darshan to Arunagiri natha the one with consorts or the one without consorts ? I guess the one near the temple tower is where he got darshan .

Subramaniam Sir

Thanks for your reply . I feel we can find the depth only when we dive deep into both these works .
What was Bhagvan's opinion on Thirupuggazh and Arunagiri Nathar . I am asking this because Arunaginathar also has a relationship with Thiruvanamalai only that he had a darshan of Lord Subramanya at the Arunachaleswara  Temple and to my knowledge he has not written any poems praising Arunachala Hill .
By the way do u know the specific name of Lord Subramanya at the Arunachaleshwara Temple ?

Subramaniam Sir

Thanks for your continued efforts in updating this thread .
I am not well versed in Classical Tamil and also only a beginner to the Classical Works of Bhagavan Raman as well as Arunagiri Nathar .
My question is do you find really similarity ( I mean in depth ) between the verses of Bhagavan's AAMM and those of Arunagirinathar's Thirupuggazh here or are these verses only symbolic similarities ? I do appreciate the effort by the devotee who has made this huge task of compiling these verses but just want to get your overall feedback in to this work of finding similarities between Bhagavan's AAMM and Thirupugazh.

Today I saw in another blog the above story and how reading Gita daily really helped the blogger in his/her personal sadhana .
In fact this is what the blogger shared
Bhagavad Gita is not the only scripture to read. You can pickup any book which is guiding you in this line. The advantage of Bhagavad Gita is everything is not given straight. We have to make out the lessons. In that way, it unconsciously makes us think on those points and helps us to contemplate and follow it in our life.

General Discussion / Re: Poems, Sayings on Solitude

One may take a warm interest in what is happening in the world, be thrilled or saddened by dramatic events, and yet refuse to join in the scramble to get on, the fight between opposing parties, the denigrating gossip or foolish movements. One may live as a hermit, while living in the world, and thus live with oneself.

From Notebooks of Paul Brunton

Thanks Subramaniam Sir for your updates .

Apply yourself to solitude. One who is given to solitude knows things as they really are.

Do not get involved by arguing, fighting, trying to change things. Just observe. If you can observe without getting excited, then you've passed that test and you will not have to repeat it.

~ Robert Adams

Good Subramaniam Sir

It is really a great effort to find parallels between AAMM and Thirupuggazh songs . Thanks for ur effort .It makes now reading AAMM more interesting .

Subramaniam Sir

Thanks for the effort . Do not worry too much about the fonts etc .If you give the verse nos and basic sentence in English I can follow the same . Just want to know how AAMM is related to Thiruppugazh .
If possible give the Poem Name and verse no from Thirupuggazh so that I can find the Original Tamil source .
