The teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi / Animals and plants
« on: June 04, 2011, 11:44:54 PM »
Do animals and plants have souls?
Can animals be reborn as humans?
I ask because animals (and I think plants too) can suffer, but what can they do to reach moksha?

Arunachala / What would happen if Arunachala were destroyed?
« on: June 02, 2011, 09:10:07 AM »
In our times large parts of nature are destroyed.
What would happen if anytime in the future some crazy government decides to sell Arunachala mountain to a company that removes the mountain and uses the material gained to build something?
In China the government built a monstrous dam that destroyed three gorges, so we can see what human are capable of doing in the hope to gain monay.

The teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi / Karma
« on: May 25, 2011, 12:37:12 PM »
Is Karma a strict personal thing, or do families share Karma?

At Thiruvannamalai Lord Shiva's name is Annamalaiyaar, but Devi's name is Unnamulaiamman.
Why the changing of vocals "a" to "u" in Mother's name?
What exactly is the meaning of these names?

The teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi / Family & moksha
« on: May 20, 2011, 03:17:47 AM »
When someone attains moksha, has this an effect on the fate of that persons family members?
Because I think the Devi Gita says when a person attains moksha his mother must never be reborn.

What did Bhagavan say about this?
Because I have read that Ishta-Devata can only help to acquire kama, artha and dharma but not moksha.
On the other hand there are people like Swami Papa Ramdas who attained moksha by the simple practise of japa with the name of their Ishta-Devata.
So I am confused.

Here is the info site from TempleNet.

General Discussion / Was Annamalaiyar temple a Jain temple?
« on: May 11, 2011, 02:46:29 PM »
From Wikipedia:
As per archaeologist and confirmed history ,this Arunachaleshwara temple was originally converted from Dravidian Samanar religion, who are micro minority in South India now. Around 8000 Samanar saints were killed in one day when this temple as well as many Samanar temples were forcibly converted to Brahmin temples. There is no historicity in Brahminical claims. However it makes no difference who controls the temple and the main deity who is renamed after Shiva originally from Arugar ( Adinath- Dravidian god) , Such temples which were originally part of non-vedic dravidian heritage, which includes other famous temples like Nagaraj temple in Nagercoil,Kamakshi temple in Kanchipuram, Varadarperumal in Kanchipuram, Tirupati Balaji at Thirumala hills. History of Hinduism started in Tamilnadu only after 5 th C A.D.
Please, is this true?
