Chapter  15:

1.  Ribhu:  I shall again reveal the great secret that is more confidential than any secret and hard to
attain in the world.  All is just Brahman alone.

2. Brahman alone is all this.  Brahman alone is not unreal.  Brahman alone is all that is heard.
All indeed is Brahman only.

3. Brahman alone is the great mystic design.  Brahman alone is the fruit of action.  Brahman alone
is the great aphorism.  All is indeed Brahman only.

4. Brahman alone is the whole world.  Brahman alone is the sentient and the insentient.  Brahman
alone is the Supreme and the body.  All is indeed Brahman only.

5.  Brahman alone is said to be the attributes.  Brahman alone is 'I' and the projected light.  Brahman
alone is the supreme Brahman.  All is indeed Brahman only.

6. Brahman alone is this object.  Brahman alone is that man too.  Whatever little there is, is Brahman
alone.  All indeed is Brahman only.

contd.,

"The Samanas that lack clarity and the Sakyas
Will condemn this, my act." As he sang thus,
The roseate and bangled hands of the bejewelled
Beauty appeared; the urn broke and Poompaavai
Rose thence; she was like unto Lakshmi rising
From the unpetaling Lotus.

Verse  1089:

ஆன தன்மையில் அத்திருப்
    பாட்டினில் அடைவே
போன வாயுவும் வடிவமும்
    பொலிவொடு நிரம்பி
ஏனை அக்குடத் தடங்கிமுன்

While so, before he would complete his decade,
The forsaken breath of life returned, and the limbs
Grew perfect; then the partaker of Gnosis sang
The Samana-song before she would rise.
Resurrected from the dead.

He hailed the Lord of ever-during and long
Matted hair, and hymned the decade, beginning
With the words "Mattu itta"; as the nectarean word
Of divine truth "Pothiyo" occurring in the decade
Began to course into the bones in the urn,
The deceased form of life began to grow anew gradually.

Of Poompaavai, he called out her name.

Both Manikkavachagar's Tiruvembavai and AndaL's Tirupavai,
are having the undercurrent of Saranagati or surrender.  Bhagavan
Ramana used to say: "If you cannot do self inquriy, then you do
surrender and keep quiet."   But these two compositions are viewed
in various angles by devotees, as the six blind men seeing the
elephant.

One day, a rasika of music came to a Sri Vaishanva scholar and said:
"What is there in Tirupavai, sir?  It is all splendid music.  I use to lie in bed at 6.30 AM (!)
in Dhanur month and listen to M.L. Vasantakumari's rendering of Tirupavai, while I am
half-asleep. O What a music sir!  All thirty songs are in thirty different ragas!  Wonderful!"

Next day, a great Tamizh pandit came to that Sri Vaishnava scholar and told him:  "What is
there in Tirupavai, sir?  It is all delightful Tamizh poetry.  AndaL herself says 'I am singing
thirty songs in Sangam Tamizh.'  Wonderful!"

A third one came to the same Sri Vaishnava scholar and said:  "What is there in Tirupavai, sir?
AndaL delightfully explains how to prepare sweet pongal on the Dharnur month mornings.
Take best raw rice, best jaggery, best cashews, cardamom, and dry grapes, nicely fry them
in ghee.  And then pour generously pure cow's milk ghee. It will be delightful like Brahmananda, sir,
"Mooda nei peythu muzhangai vazhi vara..."  She says, pour ghee as if a film of ghee
would spread on the sweet pongal and then take it shamelessly that
the overflowing ghee trickles down your elbow!"

So every one looks at Tirupavai in their own angle.  Like Brahman or
Siva or Narayana, Tirupavai or Tiruvembavai, is many faceted!

Man's desire for wealth is limitless.  Saint Tayumanavar says:  "Even
if one is given to rule the entire land, he would desire to conquer the oceans!"
Once a devotee prayed to Siva intently for wealth.  Siva
appeared before him and asked: What do you want?"  He answered.
Then Siva pointed his index finger towards the house.  The whole house turned
into a golden palace!  The Siva entered his house.  What more do you want?"
The devotee grinned and showed the wooden cupboards, steel cupboards, stainless
steel vessels, etc.,  Siva waved his index finger towards these objects.  All turned into gold.  The
devotee was still grinning at him expectantly!  Siva was amused, and he asked him:
"Anything else?"  He said unashamedly:  "I want your index finger!"

Siva already lost half his body to Uma.  If someone asked him the index finger...
What is the end?  He disappeared!

Today is the Liberation Day of Kungilya Kalaya Nayanar.

Avani, Moolam.

The life story of Nayanar,. has been given in the serial post of 63 Saiva Saints, see my serial post.

Kediliappa and Gajavalli were an ideal couple residing in Vedaranyam, a town in the Nagapattinam district
of Tamizh Nadu.  They were united not only by love towards each other but also by their devotion towards
Lord Thayumanavar.  They both aimed at a single goal in life;  to embrace the Lotus Feet of Lord
Siva.  Entrusted with the responsibility of managing the local temple, Kediliappa did his duties sincerely,
without expecting any reward and found happiness in his work.  Having heard about his good qualities,
King Vijaya Rao Chokkanatha offered him the position of a Minister.

Though his new work at Trisirapuram, the seat of royal power changed Kedilappa's routine, it did not
make any difference to his devotion to Lord Thayumanavar, the presiding deity of Rock Fort temple
at Tiruchirapalli. Days passed  by. Sometime in the year 1705, a boy child of exuberant charm was
born to them. Being the ardent devotees of Lord Thayumanavar and they gave him the Lord's name.
