General Discussion / Re: You are consciousness / Awareness
« on: August 16, 2008, 12:33:20 PM »
Dear DRPVSSN Raju,  I agree that theoretical understanding
and imagining of the Self, will not help.  But when I mentioned
Pure Mind or Suddha Manas, which Jnanis have, is a different
thing.  It does not adulternate the consciousness of the Self.
Brahma Jnanis, who are in Sahaja Nishta, like Bhagavan Sri
Ramana Maharshi, used this for all their 'activity' when they
were in the body.

Dear DRPSSVN Raju,  You have clarified it further.  Spirituality
is the path through which one clears all that is hiding the Self.

Dear DRPVSSN Raju,  Bhagavan has even said:  "What is
Aham-kara-vritti?  In Aham, there is no 'karam' doing or
there is no 'vritti' or expansion or elaboration!

Dear DRPVSSN Raju,  You are correct.  Hence, Being and Nonbeing
are the two sides of the same coin.  Perhaps this is why some
ancient Tamil scholar said:  "Kanndavar Vindilar,  Vinadavar
Kandilar", meaning, whose who have seen do not speak and
those who have been speaking do not see.

Dear DRPSSVN Raju,  You are correct.

The teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi / Re: Dive deeply...
« on: August 15, 2008, 02:36:17 PM »
Dear DRPVSSN Raju,  You have yourself said:  Diving in, is going
in, or in other words, preventing going out.  Bhagavan used specifically
the word 'diving in' in Who am I? and He even quoted the metaphor
of the pearl divers "diving in" to fetch pearls.  Hence the usage
'diving in' is not mine but Bhagavan's.

General topics / Re: SEEK THE TRUTH IN REALITY TO KNOW THE SELF

Dear DRPVSSN Raju,  You are correct.  The Truth is within but
would be revealed only when un-truths are washed out.

Dear Sankar,  as Bhagavan has said:  "Grace is always flowing."
Grace only requires unflinching devotion to him, without let up.
Devotion is the mother of jnana.  But one caveat:  To get Grace,
in abundance, one should carry to Him a big vessel, like Ramanatha
Brahmachari, Mastan, Echammal, Palaniswamy, Keerai Patti,
Mudaliar Patti and Kunju Swami.

Dear Sankar, Once you confirm your trip, please tell me two days
before the travel and I can give you certain finer tips to observe
in Tiruvannamalai.

Dear DRPVSSN RAJU,  Your post on sankalpa and vikalpa are
quite useful for all the member of the Forum.  Again I am going
back to Who am I?  Bhagavan said:  "After preventing all thoughts
(which are volition and doubt), keep one thought:  Who amI?".
It is like the stick that is used to stir the funeral pyre.  After the
corpse is fully burnt, that stick is also thrown to the fire and gets
burnt finally.

Dear srkudai,  Regonition of Awareness in other great
scholars is itself a step towards recognition of the Awareness,
the Self within. The only caution is " Beware of dupes".

« on: August 15, 2008, 12:02:31 PM »
Dear DRPVSSN Raju, You are correct.  The Self awareness and
thoughts do not co exist.  Because they are like the rope and the
serpent.  When one sees the serpent, the rope is not seen and
vice versa.

Dear non duel,  Thanks for your information on V. Ganesan's
book BE THE SELF.  I did not remember to mention it.  It is
a small but excellent book on Bhagavan.  There is one more
book called THE MOMENTS REMEMBERED, about the nicest
moments of some devotees with Bhagavan.

Dear srkudai,  All those people are living in Tiruvannamalai,
either inside the Ashram or outside in the town.  You can
write to them c/o Sri Ramanasramam, Tiruvannamalai - 606 603.
They will reply if they feel like.

Dear srkudai,  Sukhabodhananda, has written so many books
in Tamil and English on mind control, without his mind having
been controlled!  You have to pay to listen to his address! Sri
Sri Ravishankar has founded the Art of Living Course, with
the aim of teaching correct living.  He has not mentioned
anything about self enquiry.  It is he who has now gone to
Kashmir to solve Hindu-Muslim unrest on account of Amarnath
Shrine land allotment.   Dayananda Saraswati is an exponent
of Bhagavad Gita, like his guru Chinmayananda, who in the
past had said that Bhagavad Gita tells everything and Nirad Chaudhry
blasted him saying that Bhagavad Gita is not telling everything.  See
Nirad Babu's book on Hinduism.
