ஆறு வந்தணை யுங்கொள்ளம் பூதூர்
ஏறு தாங்கிய இறைவனை யுள்கச்
செல்ல வுந்துக சிந்தை யார்தொழ
நல்கு மாறருள் நம்பனே.

Siva who grants us his grace to worship you in our minds! (See 1st verse.) Let the boat be propelled to reach the opposite bank to enable us to worship in person also the god in Koḷḷampūtūr, who is borne by a bull and who in Koḷḷampūtūr where the river, Muḷḷi, comes and approaches the shrine.

As we think of the god who is desirous of dancing and who is in Koḷḷampūtūr where the boat reaches the opposite bank by being propelled. Siva who grants us grace to worship you in our minds! (See 1st verse.) Let the boat be propelled to reach the opposite bank to enable us to worship in person also.

As we think of the spotless god who has a ruddy matted hairs,  and who is permanent in Koḷḷampūtūr where the Koṉṟai trees shed flowers like gold. Siva who grants us his grace to worship you in our minds! (See 1st verse.) Let this boat be propelled to reach the opposite bank to enable us to worship you in person also.

as we think of the master who smears himself with white sacred ash and who is in Koḷḷampūtūr, where blue Nelumbo flowers blossom like the eyes. Siva who grants us his grace to worship you in our minds! (See 1st verse.)  Let this boat be propelled to reach the opposite bank to enable us to worship you in person.

As we think of the god who is different from this world and who admitted us as his protege as if he bought us by paying the price, and who is in Koḷḷampūtūr surrounded by coconut trees having clusters of fruits. Siva who grants us his grace to worship you in our minds! (See 1st verse.) Let this boat be propelled to reach the opposite bank to enable us to worship you in person also.

கொட்ட மேகம ழுங்கொள்ளம் பூதூர்
நட்டம் ஆடிய நம்பனை யுள்கச்
செல்ல வுந்துக சிந்தை யார்தொழ
நல்கு மாறருள் நம்பனே.

To meditate upon Siva who danced in Koḷḷampūtūr where the costus root spreads its fragrance, Siva capable of granting us your grace as we worship you in our minds!
Let this boat be propelled to reach the opposite bank to enable us to worship him in person also.

16.  Brahman alone sports as the individual.  Brahman alone manifests as Hari.  Brahman alone shines as Siva.  Brahman alone is dear to the Self.

17. Brahman alone shines as peace.  There is nothing in the least other than Brahman.
There is no 'I'.  There is no 'this'.  There is no  'other'.  There is nothing beyond the supreme.

18.  There is no 'this', no significance of scriptures, no mimamsa, (a branch of knowledge, no generation; no characteristics, no Vedas etc.,  no thought stuff,
no mind for me.

19. For me there is no 'this', no 'this - this', no resolution of intellect ever, nothing whatsoever, not in the least, truly, truly.

20.  None of 'just one',  no 'this', no inside no outside. There us not an iota of duality,
nor the generated, nor the appearance,

21.   no thinking, no remembrance, no forgetfulness -- not even an atom of these.
No comprehension of time and space, no will, no perception,

22. no knowledge, no body as separate, nothing as my being, knowable, no transmigration.  For me there is no sorrow. For me there is no liberation, no path or no ruination.

23. I am not the Self. I am not the jiva, I am not the centrally established Lord.
I am not the body. I am not the ear, not the skin, nor the deities, presiding over the
senses.

24. All being just Consciousness, all is simply non existent, ever. Being of the form of the undivided, all is always non existent.

In Teresa's example we find that she stressed love of God without the motive of self
interest; one should desire to suffer in imitation of Christ.  To be transformed into the likeness of the divine is one way to purify the will.  Teresa also defined the place of reasoning in this approach to God.

'We should contrive not to use our reasoning power, but be intent upon discovering what  the Lord is working in the soul..., It is best to put a stop to all discursive reasoning, yet not to suspend the understanding nor to cease from all thought.'  (Interior Castle p 87).

Thus all non Advaitic 'differential vision' (bheda drshti) corresponds to the 'erroneous
knowledge' of the second traveler which remains error-ridden till the end and must
inevitably disappoint the seeker.  Its only use is to disillusion him or her so that he or she seeks new pastures he or she seeks new pastures and inevitably gravitates towards the highest knowledge of Advaita Siddhana.   This is not to condemn dvaitic teachings found in every religion because they have their own use inasmuch as they ripen the mind to surrender to the Lord thus promoting chitta suddhi. But eventually it must yield way to the Advaitic vision in the last lap of Jiva Yatra.

It is thus a matter of perspective from different levels, not absolute pronouncements or judgments. The Vedic vision  accommodates a spectrum of divergent perspectives and allows the seekers full freedom to choose that vision which best appeals to their conviction. Even variant is given a honored plane (including atheism) in the grand scheme of evolution and encouraged as a legitimate step in that ladder.

புந்தி யான்மிக நல்லவர் பூந்தராய்
அந்தம் இல்எம் அடிகளை ஞானசம்
பந்தன் மாலைகொண் டேத்தி வாழும்நும்
பந்த மார்வினை பாறி டுமே.

About our deity who has no end, residing in Pūntarāi, where very good wise people live, spend your life by praising god with the garland of verses composed by Jnana Sambandhan.

பொருத்த மில்சமண் சாக்கியப் பொய்கடிந்
திருத்தல் செய்தபிரான் இமை யோர்தொழப்
பூந்த ராய்நகர் கோயில் கொண்டுகை
ஏந்து மான்மறி யெம்இ றையே.


The Lord who stays permanently after discarding the falsehood of the Jains and Buddhists, is our god pervading everywhere, who holds on his hand a young deer, residing in the temple in Pūntarāi to be worshipped by the celestial beings who do not wink.

ஆள தாக அடைந்துய்ம்மின் நும்வினை
மாளு மாறருள் செய்யுந் தானே.

People of this world! Save yourselves by reaching Pūntarāi desired by the god, as protege of the father, who could not be approached by the two persons Vishnu and Brahma, intoxicated with the pride of their power he himself will grant you his grace for your acts to be destroyed, without even yourselves asking for it.

போத கத்துரி போர்த்தவன் பூந்தராய்
காத லித்தான் கழல்விரல் ஒன்றினால்
அரக்கன் ஆற்றல் அழித்தவ னுக்கருள்
பெருக்கி நின்றஎம் பிஞ்ஞ கனே.

Our god who is the destroyer, granted his grace abundantly to demon* after destroying his might by a single toe of the feet, and covered himself with the skin of an elephant, is fond of Pūntarāi.
