Siva has a crescent moon that wanes and waxes. He has a holy red body, smears himself with white sacred ash which shines suited to him. He has a lady as his half.
Consuming the poison that appeared in the big ocean as the immortals were afflicted with it, Kaichiṉam is the temple where Siva who destroyed Manmatha.

The celestial beings, falling at his feet and praising with joined hands, the master who consumed the poison that rose in the roaring ocean when, long ago, the immortals joined together and churned it!  The master who caused the old cities of the enemies to perish by being burning simultaneously, Kaichiṉam is the temple where he dwells with desire.

Siva has a neck which is full of poison. He has as one half a lady wearing white bangles. He wears in the waist a cobra which has spread its hood. He burnt the cities of the enemies. He dances a kind of natam, chants the four Vēdas. He covers himself with the skin of an elephant of increasing must. Kaichiṉam is the temple where he dwells.

Siva who has as a half a young lady, he has matted locks on which the cool crescent
moon is united, has a beautiful neck in which the poison is moving, chants the renowned Vedas.  Holding a trident of three blades on which fat is smeared, and rising high, Kaīchiṉam is the temple where he who has a brilliant hand dwells.

51. God is the one undivided essence.  'Ayam' is one word, atma is one word and Brahman is one word.

52.  The meaning of 'ayam' (this) is the individual; atma (the self) is said to be Isvara,
the import of 'asmi' (I am) is the undivided meaning - the state of the one undivided essence.

53.  Dual mode, witness mode, and the undivided mode - then, after the one undivided essence, be of the disposition 'I am He'.

54.  Thus, the essential meaning of the four great aphorisms has been discussed. As such the statements are with adjuncts.  Hence only the implications are revealed.

55. Limited knowledge and such are the traits of the individual, and omniscience and such are that of Isvara.  The individual is the limited being with consciousness. 'Isvara am I' is an individual revelation.

56.  Renouncing everything as void, be of the conviction 'I am Brahman'. I am Brahman, there is no doubt of this. I am the embodiment of Being Awareness Bliss.

57.  Merging the 'I' with the Supreme, O great one, abide as your own self.  All of this is one great illusion, non existent. There is no doubt of this.

58.  All is naught.  There is no doubt of this. All is Brahman. There is no doubt of
this.  The undivided essence is unitary.  That I am.  Of this there is no doubt. This form of vastness is Brahman. I am that Brahman. There is no doubt of this.

59. Suta: This universe, which has arisen from the face of Brahman who is an
emanation from Siva, is miserable as it involves creation and destruction.  Therefore, be enlightened, inspired by ideals suffused with sublime and lofty sentiments, and by knowledge born of instruction and experience.  Those who have their bodies besmeared with ashes, and with a heart overflowing with love and joy, adore the one who sports snakes as refined ornaments and who roams free amidst the celestial garden called the universe.

Thus concludes the chapter 31 entitled 'Topic of the determination of the meaning of the great aphorisms' in the sixth amsa called Sankara of Sri Siva Rahasyam.

All of a Jnani's actions are performed through the power of the Self.  Ordinary people
observe that a Jnani appears to be acting.  They cannot imagine how any action, including miraculous actions, can be done without choice, decisions, without a mind.

There were actually quite a few accounts of miraculous happenings during Bhagavan's life time. A significant number of devotees related incidents that happened around Him of miraculous nature.  He would reply, if at all, by remarking that all such events were not performed by Him, that they were involuntary and spontaneous.  He never took credit for any of them and revealed no interest in siddhis.  He would often remark that they are of no value.  Once, He said, being told about one such incident, 'I suppose that is what Siddhas do. (Osborne, Arthur, Ramana Maharshi and the Path of Self Knowledge, 2006.  See also Godman, David, The Power of the Presence, Volume 1.
In the chapter on Ranga Rao, Bhagavan said, 'Jnanis are of two types - siddhas and suddhas. Siddhas know that they have extraordinary powers. Suddhas also have such powers but they do not even know that they possess them.')

There are a number of incidents where Bhagavan Ramana spoke of Siddhas coming to have His darshan in the form of animals.  He said about a golden hued mongoose, "It must be a Siddha Purusha who has come in this form."  (Friends of Animals - 2013).

He was asked: 'Is it true that Siddha Purushas come in various forms?', Bhagavan replied, 'Yes, it is true.' Another devotee asked, 'Arunagiri Yogi came in the form of a
mangoose.  Is it true?' Bhagavan replied, 'Yes, it is also true.'  (Letters from Sri Ramanasramam, 1.1.1946, Ch. 18, Leopards and Snakes.)

Can a siddha, a jnani, a perfect one perform siddhis? It is obvious that miraculous events do happen around a Jnani and on occasions happened around Sri Ramana.  The Maharshi said that a Jnani has no mind.  He does not make choices, does not act.
For such a one, who is to do what to whom?  Naught really exists but the Self.

Years ago, I met a Swami Sundaram who lived right across the tank from the Kapaleeswara Temple, Mylapore, he was known all over South India as Guruji and had a small ashram on the outskirts of Chennai.  He sweetly said,

'Siddhis are like the money you earn at your chosen profession.  You work, you earn,
you put the money in the wallet that is kept in your pocket.  When you need the money, you take it out and use it.   Then you put your wallet back in your pocket. There are people who earn miraculous powers through austerity (tapas); others by practicing samyama (the practice of dharana / concentration, dhyana / meditation,
and samadhi / absorption in one object); others by consuming certain drugs or herbs;
still others by mantra repetition; others by pranayama or breath control; and some come to possess them spontaneously.

'A guru is like a postbox.  People come and and deposit letters in the postbox.  The
swamiji then acts like a postman and delivers the letters to their proper destination.
It is the divine that is truly the ultimate dispenser of all miracles, never the messenger.'

Questioning the reason for performing the great dance holding the fire in the night of dense darkness, having tied a garland of dried white skulls, the father in Amāttūr,
those who are able to recite all the ten verses of Jnana Sambandhan, the chief of the inhabitants of Kochai (Sirkazhi), which has fertile gardens in which the white glory Malabar lily puts foots bud like the hood of the cobra, will reach the superior Sivalokam.

Padigam on Tiru Amattur completed.

What is the nature of being superior to superior things for the devotees to esteem your feet?

The father in Amāttūr!  You became great by receiving alms having a form in which you tied a shining skin in the waist, desiring begging alms with a young lady.
Brahma who was seated in a red lotus flower and Vishnu to go in search of your feet and tall head, what is the reason for your distinctive greatness in growing tall as a pillar of hot and unbearable fire?

The father in Amāttūr who became great by pressing down long ago to crush all the twenty round shoulders of the demon, who moves at night and who lifted the mountain! What is the idea for desiring a young lady on one half having pressed down subduing the five senses which persist in oppressing and which are unsteady in their nature?
