You have red matted locks which is full of water of the Ganga.  You created the frontal eye. You have a white battle-axe which is well used in warfare, you have Bhutas which sing.  You had on one half a lady wearing a jeweled girdle of 7 or 8 strands of exquisite beauty. You dwelt in the temple with great distinction as the temple fitting your greatness.

Tiru Idai Maruthur:

Verse 1:

பொங்குநூன் மார்பினீர் பூதப்படையீர் பூங்கங்கை

You have on your chest a bright and attractive sacred thread.  You have an army of Bhutas.  You have red matted locks, on which the shining Ganga stays. You chanted Sāma Vēdam.  The beautiful Brahmins to worship you in the proper manner everywhere you rejoiced in dwelling in the temple in Iṭai Marutu which touches the clouds, as the fitting temple for you.

Very few of these verses have so far appeared in English.  In 2004, about 1800 verses from a long poem entitled Padamalai, which originally appeared in volume 9 of Sri Ramana Jnana Bodham, were translated and appeared in a book of that title,  (Padamalai, tr. T.V. Venkatasubramanian, Robert Butler and David Godman.)
but other than this, only a few stray translated verses have appeared in the writings of Prof. K. Swaminathan, (A few verses from Sri Ramana Jnana Bodham can be found in Homage to the Presence of Sri Ramana, translated by K. Swaminathan and published
by Sri Ramanasramam.), Sadhu Om and Michael James.

T.V. Venkatasubramanian and David Godman have recently translated a selection of verses from the eight volumes of Sri Ramana Jnana Bodham and arranged them thematically under the title The Shining of My Lord. (There will be a few extra verses from other works by Muruganar, but the vast majority will be from Sri Ramana Jnana Bodham.). The book will be published later this year. Here is one of its sections entitled 'The Guru':

Verses from Sri Ramana Jnana Bodham composed by Muruganar:

Tr. T.V. Venkatasubramanian and David Godman:

When Muruganar passed away in 1973, a huge portion of his poetic output, estimated to be about 18,000 verses, still remained unpublished.   A few months before his death he made it clear that he wanted Sadhu Om, his long time literary collaborator, to take charge of his manuscripts because he knew he was the only person who had the capacity, the knowledge and the enthusiasm to organize his vast collection and bring it out in a coherent form. Sadhu Om took on the challenge and spent much of the remainder of his own life copying out the verses and arranging them in a thematic way.

His efforts were supported by Prof. K. Swaminathan who, in the 1960s, 70s and 80s, was the chief editor of Mahatma Gandhi's Collected Works and vice president of the Ramana Kendra in New Delhi.  Using his influence and government connections, Prof.
Swaminathan secured financial support for Sadhu Om's project.  In the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, nine new volumes of Muruganar's previously unpublished Tamizh verses were
brought out in a series entitled Sri Ramana Jnana Bodham, (Sri Ramana Jnana Bodham can be translated as The Experience of Jnana Bestowed by Sri Ramana, or Experiencing the Jnana that is Sri Ramana.) all published by the Delhi Ramana Kendra. The government subsidy paid for the printing, allowing each volume to go on sale for the bargain price of Rs 10 per copy.  These books have recently gone out of print, but all the volumes have been scanned and can nowadays be read on Sri Ramanasramam website. (http: // www. sriramanamaharshi.org/resource-centre/
publications/ramana-jnana-bodham/).

41.  Brahman alone is of the form of Being Awareness, of the nature of the seat of the delusion.  Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss.  All is naught, non existent for me.

42.  Brahman is beyond the expression of words, the embodiment of Being Awareness Bliss.  I am the form of Being Awareness Bliss.  This world is never generated.

43.  Brahman alone is this, always real, eternally free and taint-less. Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss, the only one, ever joyous.

44. Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss, more perfect than the most perfect and the great. Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss, the all pervading Lord.

45.  Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss, luminous with name and form. Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss, the pure and endless joy.

46.  Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss, the bestower of the highest joy.  Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss, just being, beyond real and unreal.

47.  Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss, transcending all and undiminishing.
Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss, of the form of liberation, the auspicious and inauspicious.

48. Brahman is indeed Being Awareness Bliss, not in the least limited whatsoever. Brahman is all of this, pure, enlightened and stainless.

49,50.  I am of the form of Being Awareness Bliss.  This world is unmanifest.  This chapter is the Truth, and the bestower of instantaneous liberation. It is the remover of all forms of sorrow and the giver of complete knowledge, bringing about perennial joy;
the giver of peace and self control.

51.  One whose heart is like the honey bee constantly engaged in the enjoyment of the lotus feet of the Great Lord, the killer of Death,  -- at whose stainless and divine feet celestial beings in multitudes bow in veneration, and who is the sole cause of creation - he shall become worthy of His Grace.

Thus concludes chapter 33 entitled 'Topic of the form of Being Awareness Bliss' in the sixth amsa called Sankara of Sri Siva Rahasyam.

concluded.

Jains who do not bathe in water which has waves, and Buddhists, the low people spread slander without being exhausted, you admitted me into your grace showing me your divine form. Vishnu who lies on a superior serpent bed which is like a mat, and Brahma, who is seated on a cool lotus, were not able to find you though the former went digging into the earth and the latter went flying in the sky. Those who do not search for you outside the pale of Saivism will not cease from praising you you joined the tall temple which is visible from a great distance and where the wealthy Brahmins who maintain the three fires are prosperous, as the temple fitting your greatness.

You have the honor of pressing down your toe to crush the shoulders which were comparable to the mountain, of the king of Lanka in the south, girt by a great sea with waves. You wear a girdle in the waist as an ornament. [This refers to Uma who is one half.] [Mēkalai: a jeweled girdle of 7 or 8 strands worn by women on their waists.] You thought of dwelling in the temple with columns in Talai Chankai where Brahmins are prosperous, as the temple fitting your greatness.

Holding fire and dancing to make the golden armors of the feet that embrace them to make a sound you were united with Uma who has tenderness like the creeper, on one half, you joined the well-guarded temple in Talai Chaṅkai where Brahmins who desired the study of the Vēdas wear a sacred thread on their chest smeared with holy ash, as the temple fitting your greatness.

Being the earth, the water, the sky, the fire and the air, those who controlled the nature of the five sense perceptions, who do not commit any false acts, and never cease from praising god. In Talai Chankai where worthy people who are not low by their deceptive nature, live. You desired the beautiful temple as the temple fitting your greatness.

You hold a trident in your hand, you bathe in the holy ash of fine powder just like bathing in water. You have a blue color in your neck. You received water on your long matted locks. You have the nature of thinking of assuming many forms, desiring them. You placed on the top of your head Ganga too where the white and long crescent moon goes round and round like a boat; [The crescent is compared to the boat;]. You were happy to dwell in the temple at Tālai Chaṅkai which has a pavilion surrounded by tower and storeys where flags are to be seen at the shining entrances, as the temple fitting your greatness.

You sing to the measure of time [You chant Sama Vedam which can be set to music.] You ride on a bull having red eyes.  The devotees who carry water to bathe you and flowers to adorn you and who never leave you, praise you standing.
