Verse  9:

நிறையழிந்த வுள்ளத்தால்
    நெற்பண்டா ரமும்அன்றிக்
குறைவில்நிதிப் பண்டார
    மானவெலாங் கொள்ளைமுகந்
திறைவனடி யார்கவர்ந்து
    கொள்கவென எம்மருங்கும்
பறையறையப் பண்ணுவித்தார்
    படைத்தநிதிப் பயன்கொள்வார்.


Feeling contrite, the king who would come by the fruit
Of his riches, caused his drummers to announce thus
Everywhere: "The servitors of the Lord are free to carry
Away not only paddy but other riches too from the royal
And limitless treasury and promptuary."

மெய்த்தவரைக் கண்டிருக்கும்
    வேல்மன்னர் வினவுதலும்
அத்தன்அடி யாரையான்
    அமுதுசெய்விப் பதுமுட்ட
இத்தகைமை செய்தேனென்று
    இயம்புதலு மிகவிரங்கிப்
பத்தரைவிட்டு இவரன்றோ
    பண்டாரம் எனக்கென்பார்.


When the spear-wielding king
(in his court) questioned
The tapaswin-devotee, he replied thus: "I did this as I was
Stymied in all my efforts to feed the servitor of our Lord,
The Father." When he so spake, the king grew exceedingly
Compassionate, released him and said: "Lo, he indeed
Is a treasure unto me."

Verse  7:

அரசரவர் பண்டாரத்
    தந்நாட்டின் நெற்கூட்டில்
நிரைசெறிந்த புரிபலவா
    நிலைக்கொட்ட காரத்தில்
புரைசெறிநள் ளிருளின்கண்
    புக்குமுகந்து எடுப்பவரை
முரசெறிகா வலர்கண்டு
    பிடித்தரசன் முன்கொணர்ந்தார்.

At dead of night he broke into the king's granary
Situate within the many-walled and well-guarded
Promptuary where heaps and heaps of paddy were kept
Stored in rows, and started removing some paddy;
The guards who kept watch during the night
And who announced the passage of time by beat of drums,
Apprehended him and brought him before the king.

சங்கரன்தன்அடி யாருக்கு
    அமுதளிக்கும் தவமுடையார்
அங்கொருவர் அடியவருக்கு
    அமுதொருநாள் ஆக்கவுடன்
எங்குமொரு செயல்காணாது
    எய்தியசெய் தொழின்முட்டப்
பொங்கியெழும் பெருவிருப்பாற்
    புரியும்வினை தெரியாது.

One day, a subject in his realm who was endowed
With the tapas of feeding Lord Sankara's servitors,
Could not come by the provision for preparing
A nectarean meal to Siva's servitor; when thus stumped,
Without knowing what he was doing by reason of his
Spiraling desire (to feed the Lord's servitor),

சைவநெறி வைதிகத்தின்
    தருமநெறி யொடுந்தழைப்ப
மைவளருந் திருமிடற்றார்
    மன்னியகோ யில்களெங்கும்
மெய்வழிபாட்டு அர்ச்சனைகள்
    விதிவழிமேன் மேல்விளங்க
மொய்வளர்வண் புகழ்பெருக
    முறைபுரியும் அந்நாளில்.

He so ruled that the Saivite way flourished
Along with the dharmic way of the Vedas; for this,
In increasing splendor he caused the performance
Of poojas as ordained in the Saiva Agamas in all the temples
Where the blue-throated Lord abides aeviternally;
Thus he flourished in great and ever-increasing glory.

    ஏறுபெரு நாமத்தார்

    அடித்தொண்டின் நெறியன்றி
முடங்குநெறி கனவினிலும்
    உன்னாதார் எந்நாளும்
தொடர்ந்தபெருங் காதலினால்
    தொண்டர்வேண் டியசெய்வார்.

The great name of Idangkazhiyaar was famous
Throughout the world; he would only think of the way
Of servitorship to the Lord who burnt the triple
Hostile cities; he would not, at any time,
Think of any crooked way even in his dream;
Borne by great and continuous love, he would render
All acts of service, as desired by the devotees.

    வேளிர்குலத் தரசளித்து

பன்னுதுலைப் பசும்பொன்னால்
    பயில்பிழம்பாம் மிசையணிந்த
பொன்னெடுந்தோள் ஆதித்தன்
    புகழ்மரபிற் குடிமுதலோர்.


Mighty-shouldered Aadithya Chozha, bedecked with jewels
Of gold, hailed from the glorious dynasty
Of Irukku Velir; he ruled from this city, and it was he
Who gold-plated the roof of the aeviternal Ponnambalam
With the famous and fresh and weighty gold
Of Kongku; Idangkazhiyaar was his ancestor.

    மலர்துதைந்த மொய்யளிகள்
பருகுறுதெண் திரைவாவிப்
    பயில்பெடையோடு இரையருந்தி
வருகுறுதண்து ளிவாடை
    மறையமா தவிச்சூழல்
குருகுறங்குங் கோனாட்டுக்
    கொடிநகரங் கொடும்பாளூர்.

Konaadu is rich in groves where male koels
Nibbling at the tender mango-shoots, search
For their hiding mates and thus gladden them;
This realm is like unto the picturesque Toyyil
Worn on her breast, by the Lady Earth who has
For her clothing the great sea full of rising waves.

Thai month, Revathi star day.

11.  There is no karma that is accumulated nor that is yet to be realized, no truth,
no you or I, no ignorance, no knowledge, no dunce and no pundit.

12.  There is no base hell, no conclusion, no liberation and nothing purifying, no craving,
no learning, no 'I', no knowledge and no deity.

13.  There is no sign of the auspicious or the inauspicious, no death, no life, no satisfaction, nothing enjoyable, no undivided unitary essence and no non duality.

14.  There is no will, no world, no wakefulness or sovereignty, not even a trifle of the defect of 'equality' whatever, no delusion of counting the fourth state.

15. There is no 'all' or impure, nothing adorable, no morality, no worship, no world,
no plurality, no admixture of other sayings.

16.  There is no satsangha or the lack of satsangha, no Brahman, no inquiry, no practice, no speaker, no ablution and no holy waters.

17.  There is no merit nor there is sin, no actions causing defects, nothing related to the Self, nothing related to the physical, nothing related to the divine.

18.  There is no birth or death anywhere; no states of waking, dream and sleep;
no realm of the earth or the nether world, no victory or defeat.

19. There is no wretched, no fear, no sensuality, no quick death, nothing unthinkable, no one guilty, nor the delusion of the sacred lore.

20. There is no quality such as serene or the active or the excessive dullness, no Saivism, no Vedanta, no sacred study, nor the related interest.

Chapter 26:

1. Ribhu:  I shall explain the Existence Consciousness Supreme Bliss which is
ever joy by its own virtue.  It is by itself the core of the essence of all the Vedas
and Puranas.

2. There is no difference, duality or pairs of opposite characters;  no difference and nothing devoid of differences.  This alone is supreme Brahman, affliction-less and attainable by knowledge.

3.  There is nowhere anything as 'This alone am I', nothing that is decay-less,
nothing beyond the beyond.  This alone is supreme Brahman, affliction-less and attainable by knowledge.

4.  There is no outside, no inside, no 'I', no will or form.  This alone is supreme Brahman, affliction-less and attainable by knowledge.

5.  There is no truth, none who has renounced, no accounts, no corruption of values.
This alone is supreme Brahman, affliction-less and attainable by knowledge.

6.  There is no quality, no qualified statement, no mental certitude, no japa,
no limitation, nothing pervading and unreal fruits.

7.  There is no Guru, no disciple, nothing fixed, nothing auspicious or inauspicious,
nothing uniform or of different form, no liberation and nothing that binds.

8.  There is no meaning for the word 'aham' or the word 'that', no senses nor the objects, no doubt, nothing trifling, no certitude nor anything made.

9.  There is nothing of the form of peace, no non duality, nothing above nor below, no trait, no sorrowful body, no pleasure and nothing fickle.

10.  There is no body, no sign, neither cause nor the absence of cause, no sorrow,
no conclusion, no 'I', nothing mysterious and no transcendent state.

48. And again, the mystic designs and the sacred sounds are only illusion.  There is
no doubt of this.  Brahman is incomprehensible by speech.  And all is full of Brahman.

49.  All is non existent only, indeed non existent.  I am only Consciousness alone.
Proclaim thus and abide firm.  You shall be instantly liberated.

50. Whatever in the least has been spoken so far, that is all only naught.  There is
no doubt of this.  The moment it penetrates you, the firm certitide that 'Brahman alone is' results immediately.

52.  Firm determination here becomes the prime cause.  This determinatioin later resolves into Oneself.

52.  For the yearning aspirant, the world is referred to as the product of 'That',
which is dependent upon conscious ideation and which is subject to the six states
of transmutation appearing supremely miserable.

Upon the abandonment of the conceptualization, it dissolves along with the element,
senses, mind and speech, and loses its identity in the blemishless solid mass of the
Great God Mahesa, like the salt in the ocean.

Thus concludes chapter 25 entitled 'The topic of determination of Brahman being
all forms' in the sixth amsa called Sankara in Sri Siva Rahasyam.

கந்த மார்பொழிற் காழியுண் ஞானசம் பந்தன்நல்
செந்தண் பூம்பொழிற் சிக்கல்வெண் ணெய்ப்பெரு மானடிச்
சந்த மாச்சொன்ன செந்தமிழ் வல்லவர் வானிடை
வெந்த நீறணியும்பெரு மானடி மேவரே.

Jnana Sampandhaṉ of Sirkazhi, which has gardens full of fragrance, at the feet of the Veṇṇaipperumāṉ in Chikkaḻ which has cool and flourishing flower-gardens. Those who are able to recite the refined Tamizh verses composed by him with rhythmic movement will reach the feet of the Lord who smears well-burnt white sacred ash, in Sivalōkam.

பட்டை நற்றுவ ராடையி னாரொடும் பாங்கிலாக்
கட்ட மண்கழுக் கள்சொல் லினைக்கரு தாதுநீர்
சிட்டன் சிக்கல்வெண் ணெய்ப்பெரு மான்செழு மாமறைப்
பட்டன் சேவடி யேபணி மின்பிணி போகவே.


Without paying heed to the words of the Jains who committed such heinous acts as to be impaled on the stake; and Buddhist who dress in red ochre robes soaked in the bark of Marutam tree (People of this world! ) pay obeisance only to the lotus-red feet of the great scholar of the great Vēdas which are eternal, who is Veṇṇaipperumāṉ in Chikkal and well-versed in Vedic lore so that your diseases may leave you.

மாலி னோடரு மாமறை வல்ல முனிவனும்
கோலி னார்குறு கச்சிவன் சேவடி கோலியும்
சீலந் தாமறி யார்திகழ் சிக்கல்வெண் ணெய்ப்பிரான்
பாலும் பன்மலர் தூவப் பறையுநம் பாவமே.


Vishnu and the sage, Brahma, who was well-versed in the abstruse Vēdas chalked out a stratagem to reach the feet of Siva. Though they did so they did not realize his nature of easy accessibility. Our sins will decrease gradually if we bathe with milk and scatter flower at the feet of Veṇṇaippiraṉ in eminent Chikkal.
