Verse 9:

While so, the Kaatavar king had in Kanchi built
A temple of granite, making extensive and rich
Endowments therefor; on the day preceding the day fixed
By him for consecrating the shrine of the deity who is unknown
To Vishnu, the Lord who wears petaled Konrai flowers,
Appeared in his dream during night, and said:

Arunachala Siva.

Verse 8:

He fixed the Stupa; he did the plastering and made
The picturesque decorations, he had a well dug out;
He built the great walls within and without the temple;
He excavated a tank; he reared all else, needed
For the temple; the auspicious and fitting day
For consecrating the shrine drew near.

Arunachala Siva.

Verse  7:

He completely planned in his mind the base line,
The base and the basement and also the basal
Construction of the Gopura; so too he devised
The many picturesque tiers, one upon the other;
He also fixed the top of the Vimaana in unison
With the prescribed cubit-measurement; thus,
Even thus, for many many days on end,
He plied himself in the work of completing
The temple in his mind.

Arunachala Siva.

Verse 6:

The materials apart, he mentally searched for
And commandeered the masons and the sculptors;
He fixed the auspicious day and the hour too
For commencing the work of building the temple;
He laid the foundation-stone in conformity
With the Aagamic rules; in love and devotion
He proceeded with the building of the temple
Even during night, with out sleep.

Verse  5:

He mentally went over the places where he could
Get abundant wealth; he painstakingly sought after it;
He could not however come by even a little; so he
Sorely languished thinking: "What am I to do?"
Then he resolved to build it in his mind; he gathered
The needed wherewithal bit by small bit.
And stored them all in his mind.

Verse  4:

He resolved thus: "Rendering service to the Lord
And His servitors alone befits me."
So coming by wealth through proper and possible means
He gave it away to the devotees; then he resolved
To build a temple for the joyous enshrining of the Lord
In whose matted hair, Ganga of deep waters, flows;
He did not at all think of his lack.

He came to be born in that town for the flourishing
Of the rare Vedic tradition; all his thoughts
Bred by mind, were dedicated to the Lord's feet;
He swerved not from the path of devotion;
He grew fostered by that waxing devotion
And shone with exceedingly conscientious splendor--
Generative of the import of Truth.

In Thondai Naadu of this world, for ever glorious
And lofty in righteousness, is a hoary town, the abode
Of the four Vedas which confer weal and well-being;
It is Tiruninravoor abounding in the ever- during
Wealth of piety in which are poised the righteous
And perfect Brahmins of lofty lineage.

21. I am the one and the only great bliss, the one and the sole imperishable, the one and the only imperishable Brahman, the one and the only imperishable syllable.

22.  I am the one and the only great Self, the one and the only plunderer of the mind,
the one and the only non dual, the one and the only and not another.

23.  I am the one and the only, not the world etc., I am the one and the only exceedingly peaceful, the one and the only blissful Self.

24.  I am the one and the only, not the self full of desire.  I am the one and the only,
not the angry.  I am the one and only, not the greedy self.  I am the one and the only,
not the deluded.

25.  I am the one and the only, not the arrogant. I am the one and the only not the essence.  I am the one and only, not the mind stuff. I am the one and only, not another.

26.  I am the one and the only, not the existing Self. I am the one and the only,
without ageing and death.  I am the one and only; indeed the complete Self.  I am the one and the only, unmoving indeed.

27. I am the one and the only, the great joy. I am the one and the only One.  I am devoid of 'I am the body' concept. I am the eternal, as 'I am peaceful'.

28. 'I am Siva' - thus I am at peace. 'The Self alone am I'  - thus settled I am. 'I am the individual' - thus I am at peace.  I am eternal, pure and the dweller within the Heart.

29. Meditate thus.  You shall be undoubtedly delivered into the non duality in a trice.
Read this aloud everyday without wavering.

30.  It is told by the scriptures that the manifestation of the world by the regulation of elements is a function of time. As the world is insentient this turns out to be only a notion. It comes into being only by the will of Isvara.

Thus concludes chapter 27 entitled 'The demonstration of the nature of Bliss' in the
sixth amsa called Sankara in Sri Siva Rahasyam.

Chapter 27 concluded.

Explanation for verses 162 and 163:

Here it is being stated that the aspirant must validate the fact that the world is unreal
in itself from his own experience. TCS notes in his summary of the verses' meaning:
Jnana is the true realization that all the faculties (of body and mind) are unreal.

The image evoked in the latter part of the verses is that of the someone who is not satisfied that the absence of darkness and the full illumination of his surroundings is sufficient proof of the existence of the sun, but insists on trying to look directly at it,
to make sure that it is there.  Unable to see it by looking directly at it, he nevertheless perseveres in his attempts to do so, repeatedly turning his head to look at it, then blinking and turning away, and so forth.  In the same way the ignorant person is unable to seek assurance of the existence of the Self in the blissful serenity of his own being, but is driven to continually seek objective proof of its existence through the mind and senses.

Today is the Punarvasu star day, of Thai month, the birth star of Bhagavan.  Today there will be special abhishekam, alankaram and arti for Ramaneswara Maha Lingam followed by good meals with sweets etc.,

I shall give below the verses of Muruganar on Punarvasu star, to remember this day
and for reading:

I shall give in this context, some translations from Guru Vachaka Kovai of Muruganar.

Destruction of Mind:

913. Unsteady and wavering minds find only
        Failure and frustration always.

914. The restless mind moves with a speed
        That shames the God of Wind . To starve it,
        So that it, like a cripple, stays
        Totally immobile is to attain
        Actual Immortality.

915. It is true wisdom to pluck out
        Before they grow too strong the weeds
        Of lust and anger and greed, and keep
        The mind serene and self contained
        Like a vast ocean deep and calm
        Untroubled by a single ripple
        Raised by any wind.

918.  He who has vanquished thought, he only
         Sits like an emperor on the neck
         Of the  majestic elephant, Jnana,
         Know for certain that the mind's
         Movements alone give rise to birth
         And every cruel pain and sorrow.

920.   Even as the ego does not die
          Unless the Self's  glance falls on it,
          The painful dream of this phenomenal
          World will never disappear
           Unless the mind meets glorious death.

Arunachala Siva.

Jnana Sambandhan who is friendly to all and is a native of the big city of cool Tarāy where there is plenty of cool water. For those who are able to sing these ten verses composed on Kōzhambam which has tall gardens that seem to touch the sky and where Sivapirāṉ dwells, with musical tunes, there will be no sins.

Padigam on Tiruk Kozhambam concluded.

The talk that the followers of Buddha and the mad people who always talk falsehood and who carry a bundle of peacock's feathers are not talks having any substance.
Praise the father in the great Kōzhambam which has gardens where bunches of flowers blossom to cut at the root of your sufferings (People of this word!).
