செருக்குவாய்ப் பைங்கண்வெள் ளரவரையி னானைத்
    தேவர்கள்சூ ளாமணியைச் செங்கண்விடை யானை
முருக்குவாய் மலரொக்குந் திருமேனி யானை
    முன்னிலையாய் முழுதுலக மாயபெரு மானை
இருக்குவாய் அந்தணர்கள் எழுபிறப்புள் எங்கும்
    வேள்வியிருந் திருநிதியம் வழங்குநக ரெங்கும்
கருக்குவாய்ப் பெண்ணையொடு தெங்குமலி சோலைக்
    கானாட்டு முள்ளூரிற் கண்டுதொழு தேனே.

As the Brahmins who always chant the Vedas perform sacrifices in all the places where there are living beings of seven kinds, on all sides of the mansions where people give them great wealth, in Kāṉāṭṭumuḷḷūr where there are gardens of many coconut trees and Palm trees which have jagged edges in the leaf stalk. Having had view of.
Siva who ties in his waist a white cobra of tender eyes and angry mouth, who is the jewel worn on the head by the Devas, who has a bull which has red eyes,
who has a holy body which is as red as the flowers of the Indian coral tree,
who is the great god who is himself all the worlds and stands witness to everything.
I, his devotee, worshipped him with joined hands.

நாளைஇன்று நெருநலாய் ஆகாய மாகி
    ஞாயிறாய் மதியமாய் நின்றஎம் பரனைப்
பாளைபடு பைங்கமுகின் சூழல்இளந் தெங்கின்
    படுமதஞ்செய் கொழுந்தேறல் வாய்மடுத்துப் பருகிக்
காளைவண்டு பாடமயில் ஆலும்வளர் சோலைக்
    கானாட்டு முள்ளூரிற் கண்டுதொழு தேனே.



Within the grove of the green areca palm which puts forth big spathes,
when the young and male bees are singing having drunk with its mouth the rich today of the young coconut palm, which is highly intoxicating. In Kāṉāṭṭumuḷḷūr which has prospering gardens in which peacocks dance, having view of Siva who wears on his twisted matted locks flowers of Javanese wool plant and Koṉṟai flowers.
Who is himself water and fire, who is the five elements,
who is the great cosmic space and the three divisions of time, namely future, present and paste. And our supreme god who is the sun and the moon.
I, his devotee, worshipped him with joined hands.

By the side of the broad ghat where the swans play climbing upon the beautiful flowers of lotus which have buds that are above the surface of the water.
In Kāṉāṭṭumullūr which has fields in which sugar-canes growing to a great height and big paddy crops grow densely.Having view of Siva who has an eminent trident of three blades made of iron, who stays in all things both animate and inanimate.
Who is the superior one among gods,  who gave out the Vedas or who chants the Vedas who has eight attributes.
(PP_X: The eight attributes are : 1 Being self-dependent 2 Having a pure body 3 knowledge got without learning 4 omniscience 5 Being naturally free from all bondage 6 Having abundant grace 7 Power which knows no limits 8 happiness which knows no limits;) (Kuṟaḷ, 9 Parimēlazhakar who adorns his matted locks with blemish-less crescent moon along with Koṉṟai flowers on which superior bees settle.

    புனைந்தவனைப் புண்ணியனைப் புரிசடையி னானைத்
திருமேவு செல்வத்தார் தீமூன்றும் வளர்த்த
    திருத்தக்க அந்தணர்கள் ஓதுநக ரெங்கும்
கருமேதி செந்தாம ரைமேயுங் கழனிக்

In all places where there are mansions of the sacred Brahmins who maintain the three fires and mansions of those who possess wealth which is desired even by the goddess of wealth, having seen in Kāṉāṭṭumuḷḷūr which has fields where the black buffaloes graze the red lotus flowers growing there. Being the cloud which is of very great help to the world and being the worlds that are equal among themselves.
Being the living beings that crawl, and stand, and the eons that are the cause of their origin and end. Being himself the sea which always dashes against the shore,
being the five elements and the creator of those five, who is the embodiment of all virtues and who has twisted matted locks, I worshipped with joined hands.

வள்வாய மதிமிளிரும் வளர்சடையி னானை
    மறையவனை வாய்மொழியை வானவர்தங் கோனைப்
புள்வாயைக் கீண்டுலகம் விழுங்கிஉமிழ்ந் தானைப்
    பொன்னிறத்தின் முப்புரிநூல் நான்முகத்தி னானை
முள்வாய மடல்தழுவி முடத்தாழை ஈன்று
    மொட்டலர்ந்து விரைநாறு முருகுவிரி பொழில்சூழ்
கள்வாய கருங்குவளை கண்வளருங் கழனிக்
    கானாட்டு முள்ளூரிற் கண்டுதொழு தேனே.


The buds of the fragrant screw-pine were put forth by those trees and blossomed having petals, which have on their edges thorns, surrounded by gardens which have abundant honey and spread their fragrance. Having seen in Kāṉāṭṭumuḷḷūr where in the fields the blue Nelumbo flowers from which honey flows, seem to be like sleeping eyes.  Siva who has  growing matted locks on which the crescent moon with sharp ends is shining, who is the Vēdas, other words spoken by the mouth, the king of the immortals.  He who is himself Vishnu who tore the beak of a bird a crane, swallowed the worlds and spat them out, who is also the four-faced Brahma who is golden in color and wears a sacred thread of three strands.  I worshipped with joined hands.

மன்னியசீர் மறைநாவன் நின்றவூர்ப் பூசல்
    வரிவளையாள் மானிக்கும் நேசனுக்கும் அடியேன்
தென்னவனாய் உலகாண்ட செங்கணாற் கடியேன்
    திருநீல கண்டத்துப் பாணனார்க் கடியேன்
என்னவனாம் அரனடியே அடைந்திட்ட சடையன்
    இசைஞானி காதலன் திருநாவ லூர்க்கோன்
அன்னவனாம் ஆரூரன் அடிமைகேட் டுவப்பார்
    ஆரூரில் அம்மானுக் கன்பரா வாரே.

I who am known by the name of Ārūraṉ and who am the slave to the god, as father in Ārūr, I am the slave of Pūsal of Niṉṟavūr whose mouth was always chanting the Vedas of everlasting fame, of Māṉi with bangles having lines, and of Nēsaṉ. Māṉi was the queen of Nedumāṟaṉ, the hero of Pāṇṭikkōvai. I am the slave of Cheṅkaṇāṉ who ruled as Pāṇdyaṉ, the Paṇdyaṉ country also.  I am the slave of Tirunīlakaṇṭar of the Pāṇar caste. (He played on the Yāzh the hymns of Sambandhar) Those whose hearts rejoice and melt on hearing the state of being the slave of Ārūraṉ Sundarar, who is such a great person the chief of the people of Tirunāvalūr and the son of Isaij?āṉi and Sadaiyaṉ who approached the feet of Hara who is my god by right, will become devotees of the father in Ārūr.

I who am known by the name of Ārūraṉ and who am the slave to the god, as father in Ārūr, I am slave to all those who pay obeisance to Siva as his devotees. I am the slave of the devotees of those who sing the praises of the supreme god Siva only.
am the slave of those who minds are thinking of Siva only.  I am the slave of all those who were born in Tiruvārūr. I am the slave of those who have the privilege of touching the holy body of Siva - Sivaliṅgam and performing worship, all the three times in a day morning, noon and evening am the slave of those sages who smear the whole of their bodies with sacred ash.  I am the slave of the devotees of those who attained the feet of Siva beyond the boundaries of Tamiḻ Nādu.

I who am known by the name of Ārūraṉ and who am the slave to the god, as father in Ārūr,  I am the slave to the devotees of Siṅgaṉ wearing anklets, who belongs to the branch, Kāṭavar and the great one who ruled over all the world girt by the ocean.
(He is Raja Simha who built the Kailāsa Nātha temple in Kā?chipuram.) I am the slave to Itaṅkazhi, the eminent person who wore a garland of petals and to the devotees of Cheruttuṇai who is the chief of Ta?jai.(This Ta?jai is different from the head-quarters of the Thanjāvūr district where the temple of Peruvuṭaiyār is situated.  It is situated in Marukal Nāṭu, a sub-division of the Chōzha country.) I am the slave of famous Pukazhtuṇai whose mind was always at the feet of Siva who danced to make the cobra, tied on the tige'`s skin which was worn round the waist, to dance. I am the slave of eminent person Kōṭpuli, who possessed a spear which was thinking of victory.

    நின்றசீர் நெடுமாறன் அடியார்க்கும் அடியேன்
துறைக்கொண்ட செம்பவளம் இருளகற்றுஞ் சோதித்
    தொன்மயிலை வாயிலான் அடியார்க்கும் அடியேன்
அறைக்கொண்ட வேல்நம்பி முனையடுவாற் கடியேன்

I who am known by the name of Ārūraṉ and who am the slave to the god, as father in Ārūr.  I am the slave of the eminent person of Kaṇampullaṉ who realized that the feet of Siva who has a black neck were his protection, and Kāri, I am the slave of the devotees of Nedumāṟaṉ who has an undying fame and who gained a victory over his enemies at Nelvēli and had moral firmness of mind. (He is the hero of Pāṇṭikkōvai and the contemporary of Sambandhar, who brought him back to Saivism.) I am the slave of the devotees of Vāyilāṉ of ancient Mayilai in which the red coral which was washed by the waves in the ghat emitted rays to dispel darkness.  I am the slave of Muṉai Atuvaṉ, an eminent person of distinction who had a Spear which cut the heads of his enemies.  He enlisted himself as a mercenary in any army when anybody sought his help.

    விரிதிரைசூழ் கடல்நாகை அதிபத்தற் கடியேன்
கைதடிந்த வரிசிலையான் கலிக்கம்பன் கலியன்
    கழற்சத்தி வரிஞ்சையர்கோன் அடியார்க்கும் அடியேன்
ஐயடிகள் காடவர்கோன் அடியார்க்கும் அடியேன்

I who am known by the name of Ārūraṉ and who am the slave to the god, as father in Ārūr, I am slave to the poets who were sincere in their piety.(This refers to a group.)
I am the slave to Puḵazjchozhan, who died in Karuvūr, having gardens. I am the slave of Narasiṅga Muṉai Araiyaṉ who was a faithful devotee. I am the slave of Atipattaṉ of Nāgai on the shore of the sea, which has large waves surrounding it. (Nāgai is the corruption of Nāgappaṭṭiṉam.)  I am the slave of Kalikkampaṉ who had a bow fastened with bands, who cut his wife's hand with a sword. (See Periya Purāṇam, Kalikkampa Nāyaṉār, 7-8.) I am the slave of the devotees of Sakti, who was the chief of Vari?chai, and who was wearing anklets. I am the slave of the devotees of Aiyaṭikal Kāṭavar Kōṉ. (Kāṭavar is a branch of Pallavas. His work is included in the Eleventh Tirumuṟai.)

I who am known by the name of Ārūraṉ and who am the slave to the god, as father in Ārūr, I am the slave of Sākkiyaṉ who threw stones without forgetting his routine, at the feet of Siva who has as a half Uma, who has beautiful breasts wearing a bodice.
I am the slave of Sirappuli, a person of unbounded liberality and eminent fame.
I am the slave of Siṟuttoṇtaṉ who lived in Cheṅkāṭṭaṇkuṭi. I am the slave of Kaḻaṟtiṟu Aṟivāṉ whose liberality was like that of the cloud which expects no reward.
I am the slave of Gaṇamātaṉ of Kāzhi which has sea on the eastern side.
I am the slave of the chief of Kazhantai, who bore the name of Kūtṟaṉ and who had a Spear of sharp end.

I who am known by the name of Ārūraṉ and who am the slave to the god, as father in Ārūr, am the slave of the devotees of Sambandhan, our Lord, who did not worship the feet of any other god except the feet of Siva who wears Koṉṟai flowers with honey which blossom to add fragrance to the bees with lines and from which fragrance never
ceases. This closely follows what Sambandhar tells about himself, I am the slave of the devotees of Ēyar Kōṉ Kalikkāmaṉ. I am the slave of the devotees of Tirumūlaṉ, our master. I am slave to Daṇdi who got perfect eyesight though born blind through the grace of Siva, and Mūrugan, am the slave of Sōmāsi Māṟaṉ who was a native of Ampar.

பெருநம்பி குலச்சிறைதன் அடியார்க்கு மடியேன்
    பெருமிழலைக் குறும்பற்கும் பேயார்க்கும் அடியேன்
ஒருநம்பி அப்பூதி அடியார்க்கும் அடியேன்
    ஒலிபுனல்சூழ் சாத்தமங்கை நீலநக்கற் கடியேன்
அருநம்பி நமிநந்தி யடியார்க்கு மடியேன்

I who am known by the name of Ārūraṉ and who am the slave to the god, as father in Ārūr. I am the slave the devotees of Tirunāvukkaraiyaṉ who thought that the rectitude which has permanent happiness is the only moral uprightness. I am the slave to the devotees of Kulachiṟai who had the title of Perunambi, I am the slave to Perumiḻzhlaikkuṟumpar and Pēyār.  (Pēyār is Karaikkālammaiyār;
she get the body of a Pēy as a boon from Lord Siva;) (Pey means ghost.
she refers to herself as Kāraikkalpēy in three of her four works included in the eleventh Tirumuṟai.)  I  am slave to the devotees of Appūti who is an eminent person without equal.  I am the slave to Nīlanakkaṉ who is a native of Sattamanagai which is surrounded by roaring water.  I am the slave to the devotees of Nandi who is an eminent person of rare distinction.

    திருக்குறிப்புத் தொண்டர்தம் அடியார்க்கும் அடியேன்
மெய்ம்மையே திருமேனி வழிபடா நிற்க
    வெகுண்டெழுந்த தாதைதாள் மழுவினால் எறிந்த
அம்மையான் அடிச்சண்டிப் பெருமானுக் கடியேன்
    ஆரூரன் ஆரூரில் அம்மானுக் காளே.



I, who am known by the name of Ārūraṉ and who am the slave to the god, as father in Ārūr. I am slave to Mūrtti also who ruled the Pāṇṭiyanatu with the help of three things. That is: sacred ash, Rudraksham and matted locks, coiled into a crown am slave to Murukaṉ and Rudra Pasupati am slave to Nandāṉar who was otherwise called Tirunālaippōvar who went to Chidambram with a steady mind.  I am slave to the devotees of Tirukkuṟipputhoṅdar I am slave to the great Chaṅṭi who approached the feet of Siva who was capable of granting eternal bliss and who cut his father's feet with a battle axe, the father out of anger, rose to commit some wrong things and actually committed them, when Chaṅti was worshipping the holy form of Siva an improvised Lingam of sand, not as a child's play but the continuation of the act of having performed worship in previous births.

இலைமலிந்த வேல்நம்பி எறிபத்தற் கடியேன்
    ஏனாதி நாதன்றன் அடியார்க்கும் அடியேன்
கலைமலிந்த சீர்நம்பி கண்ணப்பற் கடியேன்
    கடவூரிற் கலயன்றன் அடியார்க்கும் அடியேன்
மலைமலிந்த தோள்வள்ளல் மானக்கஞ் சாறன்
    எஞ்சாத வாட்டாயன் அடியார்க்கும் அடியேன்
அலைமலிந்த புனல்மங்கை ஆனாயற் கடியேன்
    ஆரூரன் ஆரூரில் அம்மானுக் காளே.


I, who am known by the name of Ārūraṉ and who am the slave to the god, as father in Ārūr, I am the slave of the eminent person of distinction who holds a weapon of sharp edge am the slave, to the devotees of Eṉāti Nātaṉ.(Eṉāti is the title conferred on commanders in chief of armies A ring is also presented to him by the king;)  I am the slave to Kaṇṇappan, the elite among men, (who is highly eulogized in Saiva literature, like Tiruvāchakam, (two Kaṇṇappa Dēvar Tirumaṟams Kayilai Pāti Kālatti Pāli Antāti;)
I am the slave to the devotees of Kalayaṉ of Kaṭavūr. I am the slave to both Māṉakka?chaṟaṉ of unbounded liberality and who had strong shoulders like the mountain, and Tāyaṉ who had a sickle and who never was lax in his service to god.
I am the slave to Āṉāyaṉ of Maṅgai which has plenty of water having waves.
