Verse  69:

யாவருக்குந் தந்தைதாய்
    எனுமிவர்இப் படியளித்தார்
ஆவதனா லாளுடைய
    பிள்ளையா ராய்அகில
தேவருக்கும் முனிவருக்குந்
    தெரிவரிய பொருளாகும்
தாவில்தனிச் சிவஞான
    சம்பந்த ராயினார்.

As he was thus blessed by the Lord--"The-Parents-of-all"--,
He became "Aalutaiya Pillaiyaar";
Endowed with Siva's own Gnosis,
Unknowable to even the celestial beings and saints alike;
Eke did he become Siva Jnana Sambandhar,
The unique and flawless.

    உமையம்மை எதிர்நோக்கும்

Uma, the Mother, mixed the ineffable Wisdom,
Siva's own Gnosis, with the ambrosial milk,
Wiped the tears of the child that stood before Her,
Gave him the cup of gold and bade him thus:
"Take it." It was thus, even thus,
The All-Merciful Lord pacified the crying child.

Verse 67:

ஆரணமும் உலகேழும்
    ஈன்றருளி அனைத்தினுக்கும்
காரணமாய் வளம்பெருகு
    கருணைதிரு வடிவான
சீரணங்கு சிவபெருமான்
    அருளுதலும் சென்றணைந்து
வாரிணங்கு திருமுலைப்பால்
    வள்ளத்துக் கறந்தருளி.

The Mother of the seven worlds and the Vedas--,
The primal Source of everything--,
Whose beauteous form is ever-crescent mercy,
When thus bidden by Lord Siva, approached the child
And embraced him, the while pouring the milk
Of Her divine breasts into a cup.

அழுகின்ற பிள்ளையார்

எழுகின்ற திருவுள்ளத்

Beholding the crying the child, the merciful Lord
Of gracious compassion, addressed the liana-like
Daughter of Himavant, adored in every world, thus:
"Feed this child from a cup of gold
With the ambrosial milk of thy twin breasts."

Verse  65:

திருமறைநூல் வேதியர்க்கும்
    தேவியர்க்கும் தாங்கொடுத்த
பெருகுவரம் நினைந்தோதான்
    தம்பெருமைக் கழல்பேணும்
ஒருநெறியில் வருஞானங்
    கொடுப்பதனுக் குடனிருந்த
அருமறையா ளுடையவளை
    அளித்தருள அருள்செய்வார்.

Mindful of the ever-rich boon He bestowed
On the Brahmin well-versed in the Vedas, and his wife,
And to endow the child with the knowledge to remain
Ever-poised in the unique and integral worship
Of His glorious feet, He lovingly bade
His inseparable Consort, the Mother of the Gospels,
To grace the divine child.

Himavan is the king of Himachala and his wife is Mena Devi. Their only darling daughter is Uma.
Once Brahma and Vishnu came to Himavan and told him to give his daughter in wedding
to Siva.  Siva came to see Uma and was happy and indicated his liking to marry Uma.  Himavan
became thoughtful.  This guy has not mother and father.  And his caste is not even known to us.  We do not know his gothra, lineage.  How can we give our daughter?  Mena Devi said:  It does not matter.  If he has no mother and father, it is in a way good, for Uma will not suffer at the hands of a mother
in law or a sister in law!

The wedding took place in a grand manner.  Kubera came as the best-man for Siva.  Brahma and Saraswati, and Vishnu and Lakshmi attended the wedding and gave the couple a lot of costly gifts.

Finally Siva took leave and left with Uma.  He said that they are going for honey-moon to Tiruvannamalai.
"It is a very cool place here.  Annamalai is quite hot.  So, for a change, we propose to go to Tiruvannamalai
for honey-moon.

Himavan exclaimed:  "Oh!  To Annamalai?"

Siva said:  "Yes, to Annamalai.  I own that Hill."

Himavan became very happy.  O, our son-in-law is also the owner of a Hill.  Then, I should say that he
belongs to our caste! He and Mena Devi happily saw the couple off to Tiruvannamalai!

One girl to another:-

His temple is the cremation ground!
He wears the tiger skin as a nice apparel.
He has no mother, no father, He is all alone...
(What is the glory of your Siva?)

The other girl answers:

What if, He has no mother or father.
What if, He is all alone, a destitute.
You don't know His valor, if He gets angry,
All the worlds will burn to gravel and dust!

After the visit with Ganapati Sastri, I went again to see the Master in the Cave.  The Master smiled
at me and asked one most private question about my life.  I immediately understood that with His
very look, He would read anyone like an open book!

He then gave me some fruits, cooked rice and ghee.  He also gave me a spoon-like implement made out of coconut shell!  He then gave me some milk out of desiccated coconut.  As I was eating,
He described me very important details of my past life.  He has seen hundreds of people in His life.
But I understood that with His Wisdom-insight, He reads every one like an encyclopedia.

I sat with Him for over three hours and He talked to me many many things.

I realized that He is a complete Master of Wisdom.

He is my Father Who caused all my senses to pursue the true path;

You have debased me by your utter falsity;
You have so spoiled me that I stand ruined.

you do not so sing that your bones melt;
You do not quake;
you pay obeisance none;
you do not Wear on your crown his flower-feet;
neither do you Adorn His feet with flowers.
O helpless cadaverous heart !
You do not go in quest of Him;
through street After street you wail not aloud;
I know not what I should do.

Verse  42:

O Mother!  On your breasts are the shining pearl garland.  Your breasts are big and without space between
shine with pride.  These breasts of mountains make Siva's valiant mind rock with lust.  O Abhirama Sundari!
You have got private parts like the hood of a serpent!  O Mother of cool soothing words, You are wearing
Veda as anklets!

Ironically, and apparently ridiculously, it is possible to make the statement that:  'After rejecting all the
Murta and Amruta forms of the Atman, (i.e all the 'obvious'  things, 'I am the body' and 'I am the mind')
and negating all the superimposed duality, what remains is the Atman.  Anandagiri makes this statement
as his comment on K.3.26.  It is remarkable how similar this is to the statement b Conan Doyle's
Sherlock Holmes that I have been quoting in all my books: 'When all has been investigated and rejected,
whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.'  Anandagiri goes even further:  'all that
falls into the class of comprehensible (drishya) is established as unreal,'  i.e. whatever you can understand
is false; what is real will be always be beyond comprehension!

But, lest you should give up at this point, the import of this must be realized.  You should never confuse means
with ends.  And it is not that, for example, you should make the mistake of the neo Vedantins and think that
the nirvikalpa samadhi that is possible to attain after many years of practice in meditation is what is meant
by enlightenment.  You should not think either that what is said by the Upanishads is the absolute truth.
Words exist only in the empirical realm; the absolute truth is forever ineffable.  This teaching is provided
to lead you and point you in the right direction.  The final leap is up to you.

21,22:  Isvara:

Without loving devotion to the lotus feet of the blue-throated Lord, even if one can recite the sonorous
chants of the Vedas or demonstrate hatha yoga exercises, there is no hope. Such ritualists (devoid of
devotion) even if they be revered as ascetics shall be tormented by wild four legged animals and butchered
with weapons like axes in the abode of Yama, death.  Their agonies are intensified as their heads are shattered
to pieces with clubs.  Heart broken they return (reborn) to the world of dire pain and roam like asses begging
for food.

23. (Despite all this) pure love for the lotus feet of Sambhu does not generate in the life short lived like flash
of lightning. Disposition to adore the sacred ashes, sacred beads, Rudra Suktam and Siva, the kanishtha
(the last, or one who is the end of all) does not arise.  Such ones wallow in abhorrent states like the vermin
in feces.

24.  Further, these hapless fools stoop to increasingly pathetic realms and experience long a viscious
birth dotage death cycle.  They incline their hearts to the service of Siva's effulgent lotus feet.  They
cannot think of Him who is Jyeshtha  - the eldest Sipivishtha - dweller of waters and Ashtakriti - of the
octonary form.

Consigned to hell full of excreta, they wallow in it for eternity.

248.  Since the Most Holy One has shown that the Original Sin (spoken of by Christians) is just the
sense of 'I am the body', therefore the sense of separateness of God from oneself, which is the outcome
of this Sin, is itself only sinful!

249.  The completeness (All-ness) of the Supreme Being, asserted by Revelation, becomes true only by
His being the Self.  The deluded ones are just denying this completeness of His by their notion of His being
separate from themselves!

250.  But devotion practiced without sense of difference is the way of accepting this completeness of God,
and Bhagavan Sri Ramana, our Guru, says that this Devotion is the most excellent and highly purifying to
the aspirant for Deliverance.

251. Also the Most Holy One has shown that, like the man that pursues darkness, light in hand, the devotee
who meditates on God as separate does not reach God (so long as he has this false notion).

252. Since the better devotee approaches God as the Self, knowing that the notion of difference due to
the ego is false, therefore for this aspirant for Deliverance, the annihilation of the ego, will be accomplished
quickly.

253. In the case of him who adores God as  non Self, surrender of himself is a sham, just like the gift of
a coconut (to a guest) is a sham in the Chozha region.

254.  When the Supreme Being is reduced to the status of a non Self, then it results that He is not the
Most Beloved of all.  For, both according to Revelation and the common experience of all creatures, the
Self is the dearest of all!

To shower on him grace with His benign eyes
For his divine servitorship in his previous births
Manifested on His martial Bull with His Consort--

And came near unto the tank
In crescent-crested majesty.
