"virago bhavam as described in the Ashtapadhi where Radha and Gopis long for Krishna.

This Viraga bhavam is the supreme state of devotion. it is the nectar of devotion which great sages also look forward"

Perfect example of Radhey Shyam and Gopika's and good to know about Viraga bhavam. May be this is a phase of test in my life and need to go through it and come out successfully. some times the wait, patience and distance brings out more love!

Thank you KSK

Dear Nagaraj,

Thank you so much for such lovely and brief explanation. In fact before I got the Visa to come to Canada I was So fortunate to go to Tiru in Dec 2015 and thank god I visited then coz later when I got the Visa i had to rush here. I dont see any possibility to visit Tiru for other couple of years or even more coz of my education requirements. Its really hard for me coz I usually used to go to Tiru at least a couple of times a year from hyd and now I dont have anything apart from memories.

I feel fortunate that I had the privilege to visit Tiru all these years.

Dear All,

I am posting after a long time and I think few of them still remember me. Just few months ago I relocated to Canada and currently I am residing in Kamloops. This place is surrounded by hills and mountains and unfortunately there is no temple in this entire city. The only thing I can do for couple more years is to pray in my heart by saying Arunachala Shiva, Arunachala Shiva, Arunachala Shiva, Arunaachalaa!

The point I am trying to make here is, there is a mountain which resembles to our Arunachala and when ever I look at it I pray to it thinking it self as Arunachala.... I am not sure this act of mine is correct or not but "this one hill" out of many keeps reminding me that I am still with Arunachala and I keep praying when ever I look at it.

It might sound foolish or crazy coz no hill on this earth can be compared or resembles with our Arunachala as it is unique.

Dear ones,

Does anybody have any idea about why the Arunachala web page is not getting opened or when it will be fixed? I usually open it in my phone, laptop etc when & where ever possible but its very disappointing that may be due to some technical reasons it is not getting opened. I pray to Arunachala that it should start functioning as soon as possible.

Dear Lalit,

Thank you so much for the beautiful question.

Arunachala Shiva.......... Aah! saying this it self makes ones body feel happy & relieves all the pain of the body & makes to feel the bliss.

I remember my friend telling me, chanting Arunachala Shiva! once is equal to chanting countless times of Namah Shivaya!

When I am in pain or in happy the first thing i think about is Arunachala! or Arunachala Shiva!

Thanks a ton for the question

Hello Subramanian Ji

Hope you are doing good, Happy Shivaraatri to you and all our devotees of Bhola Shankara. Even here in AP/Telangana Shivaraatri is celebrated in a big way. Devotees do pada yaatra or walk from 100's of miles to visit Jyotir ling of Srisailam on this special occasion.

May almighty give strength to do fasting for the whole day and also devotion to sing bhajans for the whole night to enjoy this special occasion of Arunachala. Shivaraatri also reminds us of one more thing, end of winter & start of scary summer.

Niraakaaram-Ongkara-Muulam Turiiyam
Giraa-Jnyaana-Go-[A]tiitam-Iisham Giriisham
Karaalam Mahaakaala-Kaalam Krpaalam
Gunna-[A]agaara-Samsaara-Paaram Nato-[A]ham

Meaning: I bow to the supreme Lord who is the formless source of ?OM? The Self of All, transcending all conditions and states. Beyond speech, He understands the sense perception. Awe-full, but gracious, the ruler of Kailash, Devourer of Death, the immortal abode of all virtues.

Dear ksksat27

Thank you for sharing the wisdom, if it is good to do girivalam or spritual practice along with a group or mass, then it must be done with precautions, as we know these days there is also stampede which is happening esp during such big festivals or mass gatheing.

Due to some reasons I am not able to go to Tiru during Shivaraatri & I am going in the month end of Feb, hope everything goes well.

Dear ksksat27

Hope you are doing well. Good to know that you have been to Tiru on the auspicious day. Certainly you are a fortunate one & blessed soul indeed. Last year When I have been during deepam festival, I was not able to find peace/concentration & there was too many distractions during the girivalam. So this year I have skipped the deepam festival & I have decided to go during Shivraatri along with my mom. I have booked flight tickets in advance & just waiting for the day to come eagerly. I could clearly see that every year crowds are increasing making it difficult or more challenging esp for girivalam fest, I hope you had pleasant experience during girivalam.

Thanks for sharing your experience & making me recollect some of the past experiences of girivalam.

Arunachala / Uttering the name of Arunachala!
« on: June 07, 2014, 12:53:16 PM »
Dear All,

I am not much in to puja & related practices. When ever it is possible I take the name of Arunachala Shiva whether I am in pain, happy or if I eat any thing delicious. So it has become a habit for me to utter his name. Now here comes the confusion, Its been many days since I have been to temple, last week my mom insisted on going to temple, being lazy I postponed & today finally I have been to Hanuman mandir being its Saturday. When ever I have to do pranam my subconscious mind is giving me the name of Arunachala instead of Sri Anjaneya. I am facing this confusion from long time & I am not sure is it a good practice to utter Arunachala before different deities(male/female). I am sure that there is nothing wrong in this but its just a small guilty feeling that it may not be a right approach.

Any thoughts or suggestions on this?

Arunachala / Re: Surrendering a wish to Bhagavan and Arunachala
« on: June 06, 2014, 09:36:09 AM »
Dear Jewell,

I wonder from where do u get these pic's :-\

I love animals esp dogs and greenery with lots of trees which again leads to increase in habitats esp animals. I wish there should be too many trees on the left side of the path which gives us shade while doing pradakshina & less number of trees on the right side which helps us to always focus on the hill. Compared to 5-6 yrs i see trees growing fast now, which is obstructing view of the sacred hill most of the times while doing pradakshina.

I really miss those days when I used to do pradakshina from the forest. The best was doing pradakshina immediately after rain from forest. I cannot explain its beauty & I feel may be thats how being in heaven or Shiva lokam feels like. I wish local authorities should start allowing people from inner route with proper precautionary measures.

When I have been for the first time in 2006, there was very less traffic, less promotions/marketting & less temples. I wish ancient shrines should be protected well with no more new temples, ashrams etc which is making this place a mess or different from good old days. I feel Arunachala is the blend of all gods and uttering his name or seeing him with our eyes is enough for this life or for this body & there is no need to have different deities to be established on the pradakshina route.

I wish there should be no more homes constructed closer to the hill or on the right side of the outer route. India is such a place, here we have the world's expensive house and at the same time people living on the streets, so people can spend money or bribe till any extent to build a house closer to hill & this should be prohibited.
