Title: A doubt on the Arunachala Siva mantra
Post by: lalit1000 on April 28, 2015, 09:38:43 AM
Dear Brothers and Friends,
I've learnt that the "arunachala siva" mantra can be chanted by all including the non initiates. But my question here is the following basic one.
One japa of the mantra is :
1)Arunachala Siva
or
2)Arunachala Siva,Arunachala Siva,Arunachala Siva,Arunchala ?
Sincerely yours,

Dear lait1000,

The following makes one count:

Arunachala Siva, Arunachala Siva,
Arunachala Siva, Arunachala!

Arunachala Siva, Arunachala Siva,
Arunachala Siva, Arunachala!

One can also chant Arunachala Siva alone.

Arunachala Siva.

Dear Lalit,

Thank you so much for the beautiful question.

Arunachala Shiva.......... Aah! saying this it self makes ones body feel happy & relieves all the pain of the body & makes to feel the bliss.

I remember my friend telling me, chanting Arunachala Shiva! once is equal to chanting countless times of Namah Shivaya!

When I am in pain or in happy the first thing i think about is Arunachala! or Arunachala Shiva!

Thanks a ton for the question

Om Arunaachaleshwaraaya Namaha!

Lalit,

Arunachala shiva is a japa mantra.

The long form is used for kirtan and not japa.

Generally with Akshara Manamalai we will use that kirtan form.

Basically it is the same -- for us , the dress material that shields us is the arunachala shiva.
