Title: Sadaiya Nayanar and Isai Jnaniyar (One of the 63 Siva Saints)
Post by: Subramanian.R on January 15, 2009, 09:22:49 AM
Sadaiya Nayanar and Isai Jnaniyar are the father and mother of Saint
Sundaramoorthy, who is one of the Four Great Saints of Siva.  His parents were great Siva devotees and the fact that Sundaramoorthy was born to them, is itself a proof that they had great merits.  They were fit to go to
Siva'a abode through their own merits and accordingly found a place for themselves in the group of 63 Siva Saints.

With this, we come to the end of Periya Puranam, with the exception of
three great saints Jnana Sambandhar, Tiruvanavukkarasar and Sundaramoorthy.  The stories of these three saints have been narrated in great detail by Sekkizhar and we shall see them in a few posts. First
we shall take up Jnana Sambandhar.  His life story alone occupies 25% of Periya Puranam.
